Royal Jordanian has just put its newest route to the United States on sale, and the airline sure is marketing it in a unique way.

Hope RJ is not offended by Ben using the word "controversial ". If so, soon Ben won't be able to fly anywhere!

The DC area has a large contingent of Arab-Americans too.

Across much of the US, a lot of the Arab and Muslim American voters gravitated back to the Republican Party for President which they usually supported into at least the 2000 election. And this demographic group tends to be more socially conservative and economically liberal than Democratic Party.

Curious why you are republishing this from last week. It's old news. Unless, of course, you are trolling the Egyptians in pointing out RJ and the beautiful Amman airport. If so, well played.

@ Antwerp -- The airline teased the route last week. The reason I'm publishing this now is because the route was actually announced, flights were put on sale, etc. None of that was announced last week.

Why is this controversial? Or possibly "trolling"? Because they are not so subtly noting that President Trump will soon be back in office? Honestly not understanding your point.

What's controversial is the ad appearing to be in support of/happy about the incoming president.

Middle of the action must mean an oasis of calmness for tourism (that Jordan wants to reignite without Israel). Jordan has long disowned West Bankers, and is now Israel's only neighbor not involved in the troubles, sort of (US State Department warns of certain uncommonly-toured areas though).

Fortunately, Jordan is a lot more politically stable to nitpick a blogger than her neighbors 🙂

Really just not a good idea for a business to take sides in US politics. No matter what side you're taking, you offend half the country. And, if we're not sure wehter they're trolling or not, they might offend more than half. There's a reason it's inadvisable to talk politics at work.
