During my two-part birthday trip to the Golden Triangle, I had an extended layover at Amman Queen Alia International Airport (AMM), between two Royal Jordanian flights. I was arriving from Bangkok (BKK) in Royal Jordanian’s Boeing 787-8 business class, and departing to Frankfurt nearly six hours later, in Royal Jordanian’s Embraer E190-E2 business class.

Reminds me of SAS lounge in Copenhagen which is NOT better at all, at least in evenings, when masses have visited - also rude and indifferent lounge dragons, littered tables and floors, broken or missing power ports, but decent choice of food.

"There’s a full bar, though I didn’t partake in any alcohol."
Seems really unusual for Ben....

One does not "partake in alcohol" . One "Participates With" alcohol . It is a wild menage .

As far as ‘crown lounges’ go, I prefer the KLM Crown 52 lounge in AMS…

The advertisement of Jordan being the 'land of hospitality' would be slightly above Hatethrow's slogan of 'Making every Journey easy'. We all know how very false that advertisement is for Hatethrow.

Probably the one country hit worst by the Bibi-led escalations. Feel bad for tourism in that country and could very well explain the behaviour of staff currently. Don't get the 'hidden' entrace - as noted when connecting there's signs enough, not worse than many other airports, and when flying out of country on RJ there is a dedicated entrance not unlike to QR's business terminal wing in Doha. Which leads straight to lounge.

In fairness to the staff, you objectively are inconveniencing them, even if it’s also true that they only have a job there because eligible travellers like you are using the facilities.

I last visited this lounge in 2012. It looks exactly the same in 2026.

I was so excited! I had locked on my best Oneworld business class fare from Delhi to Tucson ever. 70,000 miles DEL-DOH-ORD-TUS. QSuites from DEL to Doha, but since the flight left at 4am, I slept through it all. Short connection to AMM so I missed all the Qatar biz lounge action. Once in AMM I had the same experience, couldn't find the lounge entrance for 30 minutes.
Yuck, nasty. Boarded my flight to ORD, and the aircraft was a big.disappointment, old, poor service. In the end, so guess you get what you pay for.

I was there with my partner a couple of weeks ago. We sat near the bar area. There were people smoking at the bar and staff did not deal with the issue. Also multiple people walking through the lounge vaping. Although staff cleared tables regularly they had a very begrudging attitude. We also witnessed that many customers were filling plates high with food and placing multiple plates on their tables like a mini buffet and then walking away leaving most of it behind, so although the lounge was not busy, many tables looked as if a huge crowd had just passed through. Not a pleasant experience.

Came here to say the same, except the smoking room was in a back corner with chairs and 1 power outlet.

Lots of employees hanging about in there.

Gross and unimpressive in 2015 as well.

I asked for Baileys to go with my coffee, they advised that I could go behind the bar and get it myself.

Jordan has never been a land of hospitality, and I can myself vouch for the lack of warmth or greetings seen all over the place.

Pretty sure Retired was mocking Jordan’s supposed official tourism motto, which Ben had recently posted about in the related recent review of his RJ flight.

The showers cost $15 to use almost 7 years ago. I guess we should be grateful they seem to be immune from inflation?

Like Ben, I'd still give it "4.5 stars, with rodents"...

Yeah, same thing in early 2023 for us, everything looks exactly the same 3 years later, even the trash on the tables. Once we found somewhere with an outlet it was fine (since I had a travel power strip). The food was fine and the number of idle employees ignoring things to do was impressive. But at least it was free for us and was better than being stuck at the gate. Too bad they didn't have the bottled Schweppes sodas like DMM and CAI lounges did

I'm confused. You list your flight as DEL-DOH-ORD-TUS. What does AMM have to do with this?
