With 2024 coming to a close, I thought it would be fun to briefly reflect on my most memorable travel experiences of 2024. To be clear, I’m not suggesting these were necessarily my best experiences, but rather the ones that I remember most.

As always, thanks for sharing your life with us. Your unique writing style, sense of humor, and attention to detail in both reviewing products and the industry keep me coming back. Here’s to more memories and fewer, uh, conflicts, in 2025!

Unsurprised to see Cairo and Egypt making #1... for all the wrong reasons. Here's to 2025 and beyond!

Upon seeing the unveiling of Allegris business class, Dr. Frankenstein exclaimed, "It's alive. It's alive."

Not gonna ask us Lucky?!!

Mine was flying honu biz. Food and service okay, bed narrow, but first time on A380 and loved the cams (tail and downward). For lodging was Park Hyatt Kyoto, with a Pagoda view upgrade.

Also flew my first Honu biz this year and I can imagine it being even more special as your first A380! I snapped up a duty-free model plane for something very reasonable like $36USD with the exchange rate. In true Japanese fashion, the FA made me sign the back of my AmEx first!

For 2025, consider
Somon Air to or from DYU Dushanbe, the capital of Tajikistan

Air St. Pierre to or from St. Pierre to Paris

For either, try to have a short report oʻn the city, not just the flight

Thanks for sharing, Ben. I somehow missed the whole Oman flight attendant shenanigans -- that's just bizarre.

I wonder if I go to Cairo and on social media effusively praise the airport, staff, facilities, ambience, efficiency I would improve my chances of an upgrade…..

From what I read . . . you didn’t really visit Cairo, Egypt at all. Just the airport. What a waste of your time. There is a a new $1 BILLION museum. Baffling behavior.

Your greatest travel memory of 2025 will be flying DELTA’s new A350-1000!

No way. American new business class. Coming sometime in 2025. At least by summer. No later than 2026. Some point early 2025. Sooner than later. The new BOEING 787-9P had a test flight in South Carolina 2 months ago for certification. Crickets since.

Another great year of adventures Ben as always. We may have some geo political headwinds in the short term nonetheless 2025 will be just as great. And let’s see this American new business class product. Meanwhile they are launching service from phx to Carlsbad , CA in Feb. That airfield is the size of a Walmart parking lot.

For me it’s flying J on Honu and flying the 753 for the first time…. Should’ve flown a 748 with CA at the end of the year but changed it to a 789. Lodging experience…well it was all pretty mediocre.
