A fight on a Frontier Airlines flight (to Miami, no less) is hardly an unfamiliar story. What’s unusual here is the claim that this was unprovoked… though I’m not so sure?

As are Manchester United fans. As are the neo-Nazis in Germany. As are the French guys who gunned down a wedding party last week. As are the Spanish guys who . . .

"My client is from a religion where meditation is important"... So we're supposed to believe he's a Buddhist monk yet he punches as soon as he dislikes something. I'd rather think he's from a religion where violence is important

The guys who gunned down a wedding party in France last week are NOT French. They live in France, there's a nuance

A ghetto airline will bring ghetto behavior. Youtube is littered with videos of meltdown/physical altercations on Frontier and Spirit Airlines. (Other airlines have these issues but Frontier or Spirit are usually involved).

Certainly, white people would never engage in such behavior.

Zero chance the white victim was "just sitting in his seat minding his business" the whole flight.

As a species we really lack the skills to deescalate internal feelings

I might be wrong and it doesn't really matter the race of the victim but it really looks like the victim is a black man.

Ted Bundy had a normal name. So did Aldrich Ames and Robert Hanssen and John Walker. Jeffrey Dahmer is another name.

On the other hand, there's Osama bin Laden, Mohamed Atta, Marwan al-shehhi,

When was the last time you saw two white males involved in an airplane fight? It’s always a member of the 13% or some angry fem-Nazi

My family's ties to Philadelphia go back to William Penn (long association with Haverford, etc.), but if there's an origin-destination pair for which I'd be least surprised to hear about an onboard fight, it would be MIA and PHL.

Remember the days when there were no mobile phones and incidents like this were extremely rare. Nowadays it’s sadly “ the norm”.

If the man behind (Evans) was making rude comments throughout the flight, someone should have reported this to the flight attendant before it escalated to Sharks attacking Evans. We can’t put all the blame on Sharma bc there could have been religious or racial or gender discrimination so be kind and fair. Violence is not the answer but taunting and disrespectful verbal behavior is not ok either. And the flight attendants should have been told or heard it and changed their seats. It is very rare that a South Asian male ever becomes violent. So let’s be respectful of taking in the whole story before charging him w assault without also charging Evans with verbal abuse and slander. You never know.

Perhaps as a sex men are too emotional to cope with flying.

Thats the sort of thing that would be said about two women fighting.

Sounds like he was definitely provoked. Many Americans have big fat mouths that they can’t help shooting-off about things that are none of their business. He got a smack in the head, and it was well deserved. Free Sharma!

The amount of racism being thrown left and right, knowingly and unknowingly is hilarious. FYI guys, it’s a Hindu name…

Love your website, read it daily, but it would be great if you left these types of articles to Gary "National Enquirer" Leff's trash heap. Seriously, this really dilutes your brand.

You can just skip over the ones you don't want to read. These stories are the biggest engagement and you just added to it!

Well thank goodness it wasn't Spirit. But let's see, immigrant, different "religion", Philadelphia, Miami, basic economy passenger, budget carrier, Frontier Airlines, etc. Is anyone surprised anymore by this stuff?????

I am telling you there are a whole lot of Indians like "Ashan Sharma " around in California. Once you have a Few Thousand in your Town, they will control your movements, schools, Jobs, etc. City officials think they are Highly educated and should be Followed. it is far from the Truth. many are simply Thugs that came to US due to someone was given an H1B1 Visa and the Family members followed.

I rarely think these kinds of situations are unprovoked even if the story claims it is, it is usually missing the leading events to the situation. In the US, getting the flight attendant involved may make it worse....

surprise, surprise, PHL and MIA. - the two most violent cities, with people who have chips on their shoulders, are arrogant, angry, violent prone and downright nasty people. Couldn't happen to 2 better places.... they deserve each other.
