I thought the original plan was all MAX's will get lie-flat seats and the NG's will get the HAECO staggered seats.
When did they switch, puting lie-flat seats on NG's and recliners on MAX's
what is the benefit of the staggered seat? Seems like it wastes space at the bulkhead and back of cabin.
I did like their lie flat beds, although the flight from DXB-MCT wasn't long enough to enjoy it.
@ ZEPHYR -- That was never my understanding. When the new recliner seats were announced, it was claimed that they'd be installed on some of the 737 MAXs. I had never heard of plans for them to be installed on 737-800s.
