I've long wanted NYC--> Scandanavia routes with departures from NYC after 7pm (they tend to leave earlier) so this is definitely welcome.

HOWEVER, with Sweden apparently not allowing non-essential travel from the US right now I have to wonder about the timing of this. If its still around in the spring/summer and restrictions fall I'll be much more interested, but wouldn't get hopes up yet.

I lived in Stockholm a long time ago; many leisure travelers miss the amazing winters there. The LAX-ARN route is very exciting!!

I fully agree, Ben, the routes are only economically feasible, if the travel ban for Europeans entering the US is lifted, soon. However, I haven't seen any signs of this happening ... If even a joint effort by Merkel and Macron did not succeed, I have some doubts that the Finnish and Swedish administration will be more successful.

I can't wait to visit in the dead of winter and head up to Lapland (Finland and/or Sweden) for Northern lights.

Why do they schedule the flight to JFK getting in so late?

The LAX-ARN flight also means that Finnair will be back to serving LAX daily. The HEL flight is on the days the ARN flight isnt running.

Hasn‘t SAS recently discontinued their ARN-LAX service in favor of CPH-LAX? In this case, Finnair would fill a void on the Stockholm to LAX route.

The distances are the same in each direction? Whouda thunk?

The chance of the US flights happening as currently scheduled: 0%

You should consider Norway as well. Combine it with visiting the wonderful city of Tromsø and experience the wild coast. Swedish and Finnish Lapland can’t offer that 😉

I loved the Finnair Lax - Arlanda Stockholm direct route. Sorry to not have it during the summer season 🙁
It definitely filled the void from the Norwegian direct flight Lax-Arn.
Any airline that offers a DIRECT flight between LAX - ARN, I WILL BUY THEIR FLIGHT!!!
