Over the years, we’ve seen airlines put an increasing amount of effort into their safety videos. In this post I thought it would be fun to share some of my favorite airline safety videos, and then I’m curious to hear what safety videos you all like most.

Love the Delta safety video from 2008. Also love the late 90s/early 2000s version of the British Airways safety video.

Great list but that BA safety video always annoyed me. Too long. The prior Qatar video - places around the world - still my all-time favorite.
Agreed, "Postcards from Qatar to the World" is their best. The 'new' Kevin Hart one is... 'a lot.' (And their Pre-Match Team-Talk one (2019) reminds me too much of pandemic-era travel. *gulp*)
Since Ben has reposted this, I agree, ANZ's LotR remains an all-time #1. I'll add, I really enjoy the destination-overview-style safety videos, like, Air Canada's (from 2022: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E_7HwX-C6ws), LATAM's ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iwOPffGBsms), and Qatar's ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vQ_hrIgcMDM).
United had one like that as well ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qcUJZYm4VNE), but then went with the 'blue balls' one, which is my least favorite ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jep3RR2yEXA). American also had one that was way too distracting at one point ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kiWxvhq9mys). Was not a fan of Delta's 'theater' one either ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GeOHE9j2Z_I), and was okay with their Centennial outfits one ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mnOLUnExHvw), but much prefer current one that's far more calm, focused. The irony is that on airlines (or aircraft) with no IFE, you don't even get to see these. Like, if all you do is fly on CRJs or Southwest, you'd be like, 'what safety video?'
The brilliance of Deltalina is how they've maintained the character over the years. I still watch for it. When the video was a throwback to a previous era of flying, there was even a child actor made to look like young Deltalina.
You forgot AirKoryo.video with sexy KimJungUn doing the Macarena whilst overhead oxygen masks deploy or the best part when rump demonstrates fastening safety belt over his lap......great safety video
I think two airlines whose recent safety videos ought to make the cut — as said by Ben himself — are Austrian (with its adorable miniature-world video) and Air India (with its dance-traditions video that strike the perfect blend of culture and informativeness).
Also, SQ rolled out an updated version of its safety video last year, with watercolours, though the 2017 original (shown here) will always be legendary. Moreover, it’s been years since Air New Zealand or Turkish Airlines rolled out any safety videos at all…
Apologies for not mentioning any non-Star Alliance airlines; these are the ones that come to mind!

While not the most eye-catching or creative video out there, the one United used until some point of 2024 is still my favorite.
I get tired of the Qatar Airways Safety videos. The current on is with Kevin Hart and runs almost 9 minutes!!!!! Total overkill when a manual safety demonstration cam be completed in 3 minutes.
I flew Virgin America a couple of months after their inaugural flights and continued flying with them frequently in the early days, so have always been partial to their original animated safety video. Love the Chad with the open water bottle getting his pouffy hair all wet. And then the nun with the eight different devices collapsing them all down in a split second. Really miss the black leather seats and seat back ordering. ::sigh::
I think it's pretty safe to say that we -- the people who flew Virgin America with even the smallest bit of regularity -- miss all that, and more! I miss the FAs, too, and every once in a while (definitely far less frequently now, in 2026) I'll have an FA onboard an AS flight that I recognize from "the old days."
The Betty White video is a classic! But my favorite line from any safety video has always been, "For the 0.001% of you have never buckled a seat before...REALLY???"
