Royal Jordanian Airlines has suffered a major loss, after its crew was involved in a serious vehicle accident in New York, on their way to the crew hotel on a layover. There’s often the saying that the most dangerous part of flying is getting to and from the airport, and this is a somber reminder…

How did that driver even have a license, let alone a job driving people around, with that record? He should've already been in prison for life or received the death penalty for his many crimes. At least he was killed in the accident and there was justice. Unfortunately, thanks to the liberals' and dummycrats' weak-on-crime approach (and wanting those types of people to vote for them), an airline employee is dead and many others are injured.

Bus companies ought to use extra caution and rules when hiring bus drivers . Check their driving and criminal records . Don't take chances . Especially no mobile phones allowed . Airport shuttles ought to be regulated by federal government . Governors on shuttles to keep speed down .

A person with that history driving a bus? I think we know why. He was willing to work for cheap. I'd bet my paycheck the company did not do an E Verify check. The owner should be facing criminal charges.

This has absolutely nothing to do with politics. People that find ways to turn anything, especially something tragic, into a political talking point are ridiculous. Condolences to those involved.

Tragic. How did the driver obtain insurance? Should have been taking public transport himself. Blessings to the families and their survivors

I don't see why airport shuttles should have different regulations than normal buses. Though I think the bus company should be held liable when they hire someone clearly unfit for driving and this results in damages (more so for bodily damage or loss of life)

RD: Not yet. He hasn't met few additional requirements - hit on his own daughter, hit on 10 year old, isn't friend with a certain individual

That’s awful. RJ negative reviews aside, this is a tragedy. RIP. Vehicle accidents can happen to anyone, anywhere. Drive safe.

If so, that sounds like the company needs to be held liable. All-for holding negligent corporations and management responsible. I’m confident there will be ample lawsuits over this incident.

How did this company even have insurance on someone with a record like that though? Or better yet, DID they have insurance? If they're this lax about hiring standards, then that question begs asking.

I'm not saying a company bad to its customers is always bad to its employees, but it's not a huge stretch of the imagination to think that the airline responsible for Lucky's least favorite flights he reviewed this year doesn't spend all that much on ensuring their employee's safety

It's hard to find drivers. Some do drive poorly.

I wonder if the return Royal Jordanian flight was cancelled or did they just shorten the layover of another crew?

It has everything to do with politics. The policies of the left created an environment where this tragedy was not only possible, but likely.

It’s tragic, however it does, as how does a criminal get a job ? Well in the US anything is possible. The president is one.

What would you prefer you do with someone who was convicted of a crime and paid there debt to society? Die in a hole? Once they are free they are no longer a criminal and need to support themselves and work.

When ex-cons can't get a job because they're shunned by everyone they often reoffend. That's a well known phenomenon. In this guy's case his very shoddy driving record should have screamed like a factory siren that being in charge of a bus was not right job for him.

Are we certain that the bus wasn't hit by an Israeli drone just before the crash? They have been able to hit every other country with their long range missiles it was just a matter of time before hitting the Long Island Expressway!

A post this moronic is likely written by a Moronic poster.
Israel faces many enemies in its region and worldwide. Their relations with Jordan are actually somewhat friendly. During periods of Iranian bombing passengers that had to depart Israel took buses to Jordan and flew from there. Politics was not an issue except for passengers that prayed while in Jordan, they were threatened with arrest.

This is a tragedy. Something simply does not compute. I would expect a vehicle like this requires a CDL type of license. The rules are quite strict and unforgiving regarding previous violations.

The State of Israel has bigger security issues than harming a bus carrying Jordanians in the USA.
The bigger issue is that the world is full of idiots that make assumptions like your post. If you really believe what you posted it is time to stop living in your Tik-Tok manipulated world.
Ben, at some point consider deleting moronic posts as well as responses.

Unlike a private vehicle, I assume the owner firm has insurance for any legal driver they might hire.

Lucky,

Just an APA style guide heads up... Crash is preferred over accident. Accident has the connotation that it wasn't preventable or intentional, which before an investigation is unknown.

The passenger was identified as Moad Farid Mohd Obaidat, 42, of New York City.

Not sure if he’s really living in NYC, or it’s his crew base.

None of news network reveals the coach bus driver’s name, probably “No Name Given”.

Another DEMOCRAT, SANCTUARY CITY FAILED POLICY, outcome. This time kills a crew member here on a layover. For you lonely liberals if it was something else, you'd probably call the RJ crew an "immigrant helping build America". Absolutely ridiculous that these liberal judges continue to release violent offenders and criminals back onto the streets to wreck havoc.

Why do worthless magatard losers try to turn everything into some imaginary battlefront in their deranged “culture war” nonsense?

They’re insufferable and are collectively the most stupid and annoying group of people on Earth.

Very tragic and not what anybody expects after they've done what they think is the hard part.

Also would strongly recommend using the Air train and Transit coming out of JFK, not surface transportation.

If you stop calling and treating people like idiots, maybe you will become less likely being targeted by people you berate.

There's probably a good reason why most commercial airliners don't have missile defense and armed air marshalls all the time.

As a non American I find the political comments about this tragedy disturbing. Please have your second civil war so the rest of the world can stop being bombarded by this vile rhetoric. Happy 250th

Obviously the company responsible for this accident is the company handling the bus transfers for the Jordanian crew. How can you put a driver with "reckless driving" as one of his violations, in charge of a bus. Crazy
