Good for them! The first row used to be their First Class. I flew Air Tahiti Nui back in 2015 and got one of the older planes where front row seats were the old First Class product (sold as J but normally blocked off until day of departure from what I recall.)
At times though I still appreciate flying an older plane with an older product as I tend to get nostalgic. Nowadays the 787s/a350s and their new seats tend to be a dime a dozen.
Air France now flies a 1-2-1 configuration to Tahiti, and charges less $! This is no competition.
@Ben, I believe you can expect the cabin to be similar to LATAM's 789 configuration with the exception of the W cabin.
Look forward to trying TN's PE product. Have made over 13 trips to PPT. Best flights were on Air New Zealand's 747-200. Never really had a problem with TN's 340s in Y as always managed to have seat next to me empty. Haven't yet tried AF's 777 service but I'm tempted as their prices are usually cheaper than TN.

I saw one of their A340s take off from LAX a few weeks ago from the beach. So much visible pollution coming out of the engines compared to other more modern planes departing the same day. Good riddance.
