Ahh, so basically AA with different theme and finish. Such a shame. More airlines should use the Stelia Opera seats. Much more comfortable and spacious. Can fit in both A321 as well as the bigger planes.

Beautiful, especially the XLR. The future is narrowbodies with lie-flat. Thank goodness AC, AA, and UA are following B6 in doing this. There’s no good reason Delta can’t do this, too, yet they’ve given up, and are going with recliners. No one in a premium cabin for 5+ hours or a redeye reasonably wants a recliner over lie-flat.

Yeah, I guess the reason why Air Canada chose the Collins Aurora seat (I think that's the model) is basically the densest direct aisle access narrowbody business class seat model out in the market. But man, if they chose a herringbone seat I just wish they could go with the Thompson VantageSOLO seat, just a lot less angled to the aisle than this one.

Distinctly Canadian service? If that’s anything like my ex-girlfriend from Mississauga, no thanks.

I honestly don't find the doors necessary in the A321 anyway. The business cabin is not too big and your head is by the window. It feels private.

Is AC the first airline to replace those ugly safety card holders on Ascent seats?

I love the finishes but hate to admit that nowadays airlines seem to be introducing cabins that are virtually identical (which, technically, they sort of are, sigh).

To clarify, I met and dated her in the US. Brooklyn, to be specific.

When you are in another country you are a cultural ambassador of your home country.

She was lovely to eat out, that much I will concede.

It's you, again, isn't it? Yup, using the law firm as a name. Oh boy... How've things been? At least it's getting warmer out, right?

According to Tim Dunn, Delta’s business class screens are approx 1” smaller by design to help with light pollution in the cabin.

I am just a bit disappointed that Air Canada has not decided to go with a premium economy cabin on the A321XLR.

Delta has their A321neo ordered and even delivered with lie-flat seats, but certification is delayed. Therefore, they temporarily installed recliners.

Delta will be using Safran Vue in a reverse herringbone configuration, so window-facing. (Similar to ITA A321neo, but a different seat as ITA uses the Stelia product)

I am drawing to a conclusion i don't like angled lie flat as much as straight lie flat.

We’ll see how well the finishes translate from render to reality (especially the wood effect surfaces) but I think these cabins look lovely. I’m glad they’re going for a more warm and homely look. I don’t mind the current cabins but they’re a little on the utilitarian side, albeit sleek.

Nice job by AC and its designers.

I remember her - she was as wide open as La Premiere, but 1/100th of the price 😉

That’s good to hear. Hope they get the lie-flat certified soon!

About time too. AC’s overall J class long-distance wide-body product right now sucks.

You do know that AC, UA and AA will largely fly their XLR across the Atlantic and not on transcon routes

UA has ordered 50x A321neo "Coastliner" with lie-flat seats for transcontinental service, in addition to 50x A321XLR for Transatlantic (and maybe South-America?) service.

AA uses their XLRs to replace the A321 Transcons, in additition to transatlantic flights.

AC indeed uses them mostly accross the Atlantic.

@zephyr -- this is true, but it seems that united specifically is configuring some of their regular 21ns to fly coast to coast.

What? AC’s a330, 787, 777 business class with lie-flat is decent. (It’s not like United’s ancient 772 with rear-facing 2-4-2, of Delta’s 763…)

ZEPHYR, I expect they’ll do both. AA already JFK-LAX, JFK-BCN, PHL-EDI, etc. AC already flying a Max with recliners to LHR, which is not ideal for the redeye. Lie-flat on XLR would be far better.
