What a great review (S). I "discovered" Cabo in 1985 when I lived in San Francisco and THE property was the wonderful One and Only Palmilla.
Things have clearly changed so much. My personal fave (I was in my mid 20's) was a Best Western ocean front property in San Jose that had a great swim up bar and a cute restuarant. Ah youth !
Wow, can't even imagine what Cabo must have looked like 40 years ago! Even on this trip I was struck by how much construction is still happening seemingly every other kilometer along the tourist corridor.
Thank you for the excellent report of a real guest visitor story at all these fabulous resorts. I only visited the WA during COVID and at that time the Diamond benefit included an excellent cooked to order breakfast.
How did you manage the transfers between the hotels ? Did you simply ask to order a taxi at checkout or did you had some kind of pre arranged transportation?
Absolutely, the breakfast benefit used to be such a feather in their cap. The most massive and delicious chile relleno I've ever had the pleasure of eating was at the WA complimentary breakfast.
Yes, just ordered an Uber at checkout!
You are indeed fortunate to have the quick flight down there; from NYC-area, it's ~6 hours, and B6 is the only one flying daily (JFK-SJD, no Mint), while UA operates Saturdays (737, recliners).
Good move on FNCs for the WA. New PH does look nice; wonder how the recent devaluations have affected cost/availability ("Except, apparently, Amanvari." Got'em!)

Thee properties are all stupidly overpriced. For what you pay for 1 night at Waldorf Pedregal, you can rent an entire luxury home for 10 in that Pedregal development plus get a chef. Just crazy to stay at these places.

@sel_d Did you never see Bambi (1942)... "If you can't say something nice, don't say nothing at all." Besides, stacking credits and bonuses is customary in our hobby, lest you forget.
@1990_ sure, with dignity. Lucky never advocates for getting credit cards in your pet’s name, or whatever the newest loser tactic is. This post goes beyond dignified behavior that he typically endorses, and I was surprised to see it. You can disagree. That’s fine.
@sel_d Maybe you should consider submitting a Reader Story on the 'best practices' and/or 'ethics' of maximizing hotel promotions. Only half-joking, here. I do actually enjoy such thought-pieces, on-occasion. It can be useful to challenge our own assumptions at times.
