It would be helpful if you would indicate your mode of transportation; I remember you taking the train to the Marriott in Nagoya which I found really helpful!
I stayed there back in January and I found it very average for the huge room rate.
Hotel looks very average. Welcome amenity was just as bad as the other Tokyo hotel especially booking direct through STARS. Def collusion going on with these insane hotel rates.
Looks like the kind of place with zero Japanese guests. No thanks - I say that as a former resident and frequent return visitor with a Japanese spouse.
Largely foreign staff?
Well, from Toranomon to Ginza you could just take the Hibiya Line (subway), but if you have any luggage that's not only dumb, but annoying to everyone else. It's a short taxi ride.
The only Editions I had stayed at are Dubai, Sanya and Shanghai. The latter two also provided excellent service and the breakfast was top notch. The Sanya Edition in particular (being a resort), has excellent facilities, including a huge lagoon for swimming and water activities.
I had this same opinion on the Toranomon Hills review but I feel it even more strongly here. The lobby area looks nice enough but those rooms just look drab.
