Nice: Marriott Adds "Elite Member Lounge" Filter To Website

Is this a feature in the app and if so, where is it?

@ Loren M -- Sadly it doesn't appear to be available in the app yet.

It's not yet implemented in the Android version of the Bonvoy App (just in case Ben uses the Apple version.)

I'm thinking perhaps the next update.

If and when it is added to the app, do a search for a city/dates. At the top, there will be a button labeled "Filter." Once in Filters, scroll down and expand "Amenities." This is where it would be added. Best of luck

Overall useful especially when internationally because it is down to the individual property as many brands that typically do not have a lounge in the US might particularly in Asia or the Middle East. Does it include a lounge substitute, as many hotels are doing that in part so they can have more rooms?

I’m a big Hyatt loyalist, but travel a lot for work. I agree with you Ben- I value the lounges. I like a place to work, grab a soda or coffee, or just get out of the room. Mariotts have a lot more lounges than hyatts, which surprises me. Marriott has historically been my back up hotel chain, but thankfully for lifetime platinum, I will choose a Marriott with a lounge over a Hyatt any day for work.

This new feature tells me there is no lounge in any property on any island in Hawaii.

But the real question to make it even useful is, does it filter pathetic lounges and property with lounge but is always closed.

Irrelevant since it doesn't mean a lounge is open or, if open, provides a F&B service all day long.

I check out the FlyerTalk website for Marriott Exec Lounges - but it is not always current - but a good starting point. This should save me some searching on the Marriott website and looking at hotel details - but sometimes hard to see if lounge or not. I many times call the hotel. Maybe this will encourage more hotels to add lounges.

Hyatt used to be better on this front, but when it came to reopening lounges post-pandemic a bunch of properties just "never got around to it". I /think/ Hyatt at least forced most of them to stop listing a lounge on the website?

I suspect it's a hot take on the "Chinese hotels selling phantom stays for status" scandal (witness the mess Hyatt has been having on this front).

I hate trying to figure out if there’s a lounge. So far my best bet has been to look in the hotel photos.

The ONLY reason to stay at an upscale hotel is access to a good lounge. The reduction in breakfast benefits compounds the appeal of lounge food.

I call a a property usually to ask or verify.
