9 years as Platinum and 609 total nights. I am almost there! I am on this bonvoy hamster wheel only to enjoy the Platinum benefits overseas as they are just not honored here in the US.
I have lifetime Titanium. I have no idea what it gets me since I can't find anything on-line about it. I just assume that I fall under lifetime platinum and that I'll get no benefits because that's how Marriott rolls these days.
I didn't realize how close I was to the first threshold until I changed jobs and started to travel again. Made sure to get a Marriott card to help. Cleared silver late last year. Gold is within reach because I already have the years of Gold or higher status requirement met. However, I will say that it was disappointed to achieve the status and get absolutely recognition from Marriott. Not even so much as an email. I'm sure Marriott knows how much revenue the average lifetime member (by level) has spent with Marriott. A couple nice metal name tags really would've been a nice touch.
There is no relatively in this. Compared to the other hotel groups this is much more realistic to earn and the benefits are better than equivelant at the other brands. The only problem is the hotels not providing the benefits due to too many high status members. The big help is that with a personal and business credit card you can earn 40 nights per year and they often have double night promos.
