Ben, there is a quirk available on JetBlue that makes, for a small group of travelers, Mosaic 2+ a huge value. If you have that, you can book extra legroom seats for free. You mentioned that.
Added to the extra legroom, it’s easy to buy two seats on JetBlue, which can be done by literally checking a box. So, a Mosaic 2+ can make a “poor man’s first class” by buying two extra legroom seats for the cost of two normal coach seats. For taller people with broad shoulders, this is often a savings of $150-$500 over flying first on American to Miami.
To FLL, Spirit offers “first,” but not the legroom. So, JetBlue can be a very good value, albeit a super-quirky one.

Move to Mint (like GUCs/RUCs at DL) is where the real value is at. If you can make it to Mosaic 3 or 4, organically or via status match, then use those for transcon or TATL Mint, you’re golden.
No. Absolutely not. Whereas Alaska and Southwest are on the rise, and after they acquire Spirit, even frontier will be on the rise too; but JB is on a steady and long decline with no real plans to turn it around. Hard to over come long term contraction.
JB doesnt really fly anywhere and their prices are way too high for where they do fly.
Seems to me that JetBlue has gone out of their way to just be different. Maybe that will help their business and maybe not, time will tell. In doing so, I believe that their loyalty program has been made unnecessarily complicated and cumbersome while their airfares have increased significantly. That combination will push customers away. I don't think travelers want to spend too much time strategizing about loyalty details, especially when JetBlue is not offering as many destinations as Delta, United or American.
