Reminds me of the airplane scene in the movie Bridesmaids where Kristen Wiig goes crazy on the plane. That would be a rough flight. Too bad the TSA or gate agents didn't flag this guy before he boarded the flight. You should add that he potentially risks being placed on the "no-fly" for not wearing a mask I'd guess 🙂
But he's white, so nothing major will happen.

Cocaine use and sexually harassing others sounds awfully like Brian Kelly himself.

Curious if those who commented on this the first story and said the flight should have continued on course instead of being diverted still stand by that stance...
24.5 grams of cocaine is 7 eight balls. In San Francisco, that’s at least $2500 worth, more if it’s the good stuff. It’s enough for a dozen people to have a very wild long weekend.

@Kamaaina no I do not. A diversion sounds reasonable here. I think the previous “anti-masker” take made it seem much more harmless.
Why was he allowed to act out for so long? It sounds as if he’d provided plenty of cause for being subdued long before he was (although I’m not sure that he was in fact subdued).
His attorney probably will defend his behaviors caused by cocaine so he will be charged for possession of drugs but not admitting other charges after cocaine consumption.
BTW, he has other criminal records, probably due to New York justice reforms so he can be out of prison right now.
@Tim I can think of many instances when recreational drug use ended very well. Not everyone is an a*****e. Though this guy clearly is one.
24.5 grams is a LOT of bolivian marching powder. I bet he started the flight with an ounce, which means he snorted almost 4 grams. His behavior makes a bit more sense given that.
Just ban him for life to get on any airplane unless it’s to Betty Ford. If he wants to take up party drug in his apartment, that’s one thing. But do it in public or act out in public is another. Physically endangering public is def a big no no.

Also, given how addictive some drugs are, including what some that this guy purportedly had in his system, I'm not sure how recreational they are but YMMV.
I thought flights weren't going to have metal knives? And how did he get that much cocaine past security!!??
And all you bloggers led with him not wearing a mask - obviously that was the most important aspect of the story

You really should try to get a better class of customer in Mint Class, especially as you expand to London. These sordid little people who play with illegal substances in the lavatory while others want to pee should not be your target customers.
Lets raise standards!
Bravo to the flight crew and all passengers who remained calm and prevented what could have been a terrible disaster. I cannot imagine being on that flight and I am a seasoned psych nurse of 38 years!
What the hell is with the detailed recount of the man's alleged activities by what seems to be the pilot? Really? What ever happened to, "Ladies and gentlemen, we regret to advise that due to a disturbance on board, it is necessary for us to divert. Our ground staff will be waiting to assist you with rearranging your travel plans. On behalf of jetBlue, I apologise for this inconvenience"? Since when is it appropriate to give a blow-by-blow (!) account of what the passenger apparently did?

People have the right to know the truth and what is going on inside the aircraft while they are inside the aircraft and no where to go so a general canned announcement doesn't do it for me and I'm sure a lot of others feel the same. I fly on JetBlue every month and this is the only airline I feel comfortable taking because they put my mind at ease. So kudos and big thank you to all the JetBlue pilots and flight attendants for keeping me and the rest of the passengers safe and informed.
Echoing someone above, 24.5 grams is a HUGE amount -- not remotely a "personal use" amount. Roughly eight "8 balls." Completely insane (or, more likely insanely high) to walk into an airport / traverse a TSA checkpoint carrying this, let alone flaunt it on a plane.

If I did any of those things you say I did, why is there no video of me doing these things? I was peaceful to everyone. And there wasn't any cocaine either. I've got the documents from the discovery motion. Where are the witnesses? My life was ruined. I never got my day in court. I am a good man. I know Love is the Way.
