Interesting take as I just completed last week a mixed stay at both Kennedy 89 and Althoff Florentin.
89 is fine. Staff was decent and I had the same upgrade as you as a Lifetime Globalist...actually the same room (905), lol. Upside was the view and balcony which on a warm day was very nice. But as to the room that's where it sort of ended. The kitchen was odd to me and a total waste of space, especially in light of the bathroom which was unbelievably small for a suite offering. In this day and age where bathrooms have become a huge selling point of hotels it feels like this is going to be a problem for return guests, especially if traveling as a couple or family.
Also, I found the breakfast to be less than stellar. It's odd, I entirely disagree in that upscale(ish) properties in Germany often have superb breakfasts. This fell short and was meh to me in comparison to Althoff or even RC Berlin where I headed to as well, for meetings. Sure, lower price point, but breakfast is an opportunity for hotels in Europe, a place where it is highly valued. I did LOVE the Globalist happy hour though in the bar. Lovely complimentary cocktails and snacks were provided with nothing to sign. Very classy touch.
The Althoff though was truly incredible. It was a shock at first after years staying at Villa Kennedy. Everything has been shifted around (entrance, lobby bar, etc). But it is very impressive and well worth the higher pricing. Rooms are fantastic, atmosphere is beautiful, restaurants are lovely, service first rate. I will honestly be staying there in the future and forgoing 89 unless for maybe a quick night before a flight.
My final thought? 89 was fine. But it felt like an upscale AC Hotel more than a luxury property.
Good. Maybe, finally, the name Kennedy will be associated with something good.
FYI they have gotten rid of the dinner service at the restaurant, at least temporarily.
Probably because they have realized having an Israeli restaurant isn’t going to do them many favors in 2026.
A few points.
What exactly makes this an Unbound property besides, presumably the fact that it is franchised and not managed by Hyatt? It looks like your generic 4-star hotel. There is literally nothing unique or special about this property.
The decor is plain. It could be a Hyatt anywhere. I don't get the Hyatt obsession with light-colored sofas that surely show every stain. One glass of red wine spilled on the gray sofa and that sofa is permanently stained.
The wall art and the hallway carpet are ugly.
I love this review and actually want to make myself overnight in FRA to stay here. Also, I think German breakfast is great!!
At least from the photos, I agree. This is a 4-star hotel. The furnishings are of a better quality than Marriott's AC but, on the whole, it doesn't look luxury or 5 stars to me.
Wait, this is in Germany. I thought maybe I'd consider it in KY. But, who wants to be in a culinary wasteland?
We normally avoid Frankfurt when we visit Germany (almost every year), But you might have made a case of staying there for a couple of Nights. Good Pictures & Nice review.
I was actually really looking forward to staying here after hearing about the property and stopped by the bar back in February while I was in Frankfurt (I was staying elsewhere on that trip).
The ambiance was great and the bartender was very friendly. At one point he asked if the three of us wanted to try their local schnapps. We said yes, assuming it was either a small tasting or at least something reasonably priced. When the bill arrived, we discovered the schnapps were €25 each, while the beers were only about €7 each. What was supposed to be a quick stop to check out the hotel and have a beer turned into a €100+ tab.
The whole experience left a bit of a bad taste in my mouth and made me hesitant to book the property despite otherwise really liking the atmosphere.
Visiting Frankfurt is well and good but coming in to FRA airport is such a horrible experience it would spoil any trip. These days FRA is all but impassable for so many reasons. Best to fly into MUC or one of the Swiss airports and take the train.
Kennedy got it right and people still dis him. It, of course, pales to his traitorous actions of keeping us in Vietnam to help his reelection hopes.

Well it's Middle Eastern in the sense that Israel is in the Middle East.
Latkes on the menu along with falafel, baba ganoush, hummus, etc. and calling yourself "Levantine" = Israeli.
Nice to know that it's a great hotel, but I wish you wrote something about whether it's a good value. I understand hotel night prices vary greatly based on time of the year, how early in advance you book, how empty or full the hotel is at the time of booking, etc. But still, when you stayed there, was it a good value?
I recently completed a one night stay at this hotel and am not sure I would want to return. I booked a standard king room and as a Discoverist, I got one on the fourth floor even I requested a higher floor. I checked in at 4.30 pm and the agent was scrolling for minutes to find a room. He mentioned multiple times that I booked on points; I ended up with the impression that upgraded rooms were available but he was looking to avoid assigning me such.
Being on the fourth floor close to the busy road I could hear cars all night. Given it’s a new construction, the sound proofing is poor. We stayed at multiple city hotels during our travels in Germany and I had my worst sleep at Kennedy 89.
On the plus side, the room design is stylish and fairly spacious. Possibly Globalists may have a more positive experience with better room assignments.
