Turks are in Turkey ; Caico monkeys are in coconut trees .

1300 a night for a bare bones Andaz room with a bad bed and stark facilities? Hard pass.

Yet for 1,300 , they will give you a small mint .

It's petty; he thinks we're stupid enough to confuse the country with the silly, fat bird that Americans eat at Thanksgiving... *cough* Also, he's an aging authoritarian who wants to control everything... free İmamoğlu!

As if this will make up for the devaluations in May by Hyatt (and the recent Chase transfer devaluations)... still, cool, good for them. Wonder what the redemptions will peak-out at. Probably better than the new-ish Ritz-Carlton with the casino, nearby. For T&C, nothing will be better than Amanyara, but it's pricey, so...

Really shameful what Grace Bay has become with all these ugly concrete chain hotels.

There used to be a height limit so not to uglify thr beautiful coast, but money talks.

Cuba might be next. Its beaches are as nice as the Turks.

In the past when I wanted a redemption an Aeroplan, Air france, etc I wouldnt transfer from Chase unless I really needed to, but I'm not sure whether that still makes sense anymore. The Andaz Turks in Caicos demonstrates why: someone with a Sapphire preferred would have to transfer >73,000 Chase points for one night in low season? At an Andaz? It looks nice but there are tons of nice beach hotels out there.

I understand its very much in flux at the moment, but would love any thoughts on changes to your valuations of Hyatt (and Chase) points after devaluations to both in the last month. Like you I have valued the transferrable currencies roughly equally, but the bloom is off the rose with Hyatt (and Chase).

Yep, such a shame. They sold out and now it's quickly becoming just another Caribbean island. I've been visiting since the early 90s and the Ritz was such a bummer to see. Now more and more taller resorts are coming, not to mention an endless procession of enormous villas. It's still an amazing place and the beach/water lives up to the hype, but it's certainly losing its charm.

This resort looks like a parking garage. Typical for Grace Bay these days. Better to stay at Pine Cay or COMO Parrot Cay.

As a brand, Andaz is a scam -- limited service hotels pretending to be something luxurious. Definitely a key component in the point farm system.

Ben - you have a typo. You wrote "only bookable for June 2026", but meant to say 2027.

I would be tempted to use points on something a few weeks after the projected opening, since I could just get them all back, but they're also opening right smack in the middle of hurricane season. I question that timing.
