Redeem Hilton Points At $4K+ Per Night Montana Ranch

A sample itinerary for a five-night experience at the RiverView Ranch from their website:

Day 1: Pickup from airport, arrive, carriage ride, farm-to-table dinner
Day 2: Breakfast, trail ride, picnic lunch, shooting range (including clay pigeons), dinner
Day 3: Breakfast, ranch and garden tour, lunch, paintball, lawn games, lakeside dinner
Day 4: Carriage ride to breakfast, spa day (massage, facial, sauna), lunch, riverfloat/water activities, BBQ
Day 5: Breakfast, transfer to airport

How in the heck are they getting away with $4K+/night? This itinerary would presumably be over $20K?? The room pictures are pretty sad too

Anybody worth networking with that would spend this kind of money probably has a vacation home/ranch in Montana already

Ah! I figured it out..was trying to purchase the last final points needed! Transfered from AMEX and confirmed the booking with no fees. Looks like a cool property - great find!

Which of the following two statements better reflects how much the points spent on a standard redemption at this ranch would be "worth"?

"Personally I value Hilton Honors points at 0.5 cents each, meaning I’d consider 130,000 points to be worth $650..."
or
"You can redeem just 130,000 Hilton Honors points per night at a property that would retail for nearly $5K per night."

$650 or nearly $5K?...

Looks like it's saying "sold out" -- or at least I'm not seeing any availability anywhere.

If it lasts, it is surely an amazing points value.

However, looking at the hotels website, I am not sure the activities match my preferences. Hiking, kayaking yes. The others, not as much.

It’s all about the personal preference for enjoying a vacation. Some may prefer to spend their time for a similar amount of points at the Zemi Beach House, for example. Even if the retail value is less.

The question is pointless. All the information needed to judge what points are worth for this redemption is already contained in the post. The latter statement posed is a redundant one.

That Ben added his subjective valuation of Hilton points and compared this redemption to that... that's simply his writing style. He applies the same comparison for numerous other types of redemptions. But since those aren't about Hilton, we don't see DCS getting triggered by them and feeling the need to interject.

I see that the forum troll is still around, ready to pontificate on matters that are way over their head. The question is "pointless" precisely because it's way over the troll's head, which the drivel about "Hilton and trigger" makes amply clear given that neither hotel chain or loyalty program is relevant...

I'm originally from the States, but have spent very little time there over the past nearly decade. When I see properties like this—at these prices—I just scratch my head. Who is the target audience? Rich people who are afraid to fly? Jingoists who are just fundamentally opposed to stepping off of American soil? Just imagine the experiences you could have for a fraction of this money in countless places around the world.

Sure, but their are safari lodges all over africa offering a similiar experience at similiar prices (or much higher) so its not just the US.

People must have read this post and acted fast. Almost all dates are sold out (No availability in Feb and one arrival date left in January).

Agree - American but spent most my 20s and 30s traveling abroad. Only recently went to Wyoming and just wow. It’s stunning - more wild than some of the most remote places I’ve been.

Where did you find this no tipping policy? Is there any chance it was a different RiverView Ranch? We went to RVR in MT last week, and the exceptional staff were each very pleased when we slipped them a tip at the end of our amazing stay.

As hard-working as this ranch's staff is, I felt very comfortable tipping everyone when leaving there last week, and no one refused our tips.
