Will they be doing big refurbishments/touchups/renovations? Seattle does not have a lot of great options (compared to other major cities) so this will be a nice "addition" if they do update/upgrade it.

I've probably walked past this location countless times and never noticed that there was a hotel there. I've also never heard of "Hotel 1000." Will be interesting to see how it compares to the other LXR properties.

Minor typo: The hotel operator is Loews. The home improvement store is Lowes.

Pstm: I'm unaware of any work done there. I live in downtown Seattle and could've certainly missed interior renovations; but I'm unaware of any work done there.

Also, Hilton points are rarely worth 0.5 cents each. Go price 100 Hiltons for any date in the next two months. Hilton points are worth 0.3-0.4 cents on average. That you *can get more* is a different point, and shouldn't increase Hilton points valuation by 25% for most people.

I just came off an award stay in Seattle (at the Curio). While the $25 / night destination charge did get taken off, there was a hotel and occupancy tax on the $25 that did not not. It's only a couple of bucks, but it's still infuriating.

Can you post about Hilton hotels playing games with award availability? The Waldor Astoria Monarch Beach for example. Not a single date in the next 12 months available for 95k points. Not even on a random Wed in Jan, where the hotel is probably more than half empty on any given year.
