Abu Dhabi Airport (AUH) has opened its all-new Midfield Terminal, which is formally known as Terminal A. All airlines will be transitioning there in the first half of November 2023. As you’d expect, this has the biggest implications for Etihad Airways, given that it’s the carrier’s home.

Hi Ben,

Great article!

Have you heard anything about any other Lounges in the new terminal? I am flying from Abu Dhabi in 2 weeks, but not with Etihad which means I would be dependent on my Priority Pass. I was not able to find any info on other lounges in the new terminal.

Thanks,
Tim

Let's hope they also offer way more space than currently. While I agree that their current business lounge is quite nice in general (although with rather poor showers), they're massively overcrowded during the main transfer time in the evening.

There’s the Diamond lounge and the Pearl lounge
Most other airlines will use these facilities.

Does anyone know if US pre-clearance will also be moved to the new terminal? I assume so and I likely missed reading about it.

As a business class passenger (or passenger of any non-first-class cabin), can you buy access to the new first class lounge in Terminal A (like you could before with the old lfirst class lounge)?

It looks alright, I'd say on par with the KLM Crown Lounge in Houston.

Surprised from such an airline that this is what we get...

Apparently not which is ridiculous considering the delays and they simply need a secure sterile area which can’t be that difficult.

Am curious about the arrivals lounge. If you're arriving as a first/business class passenger without Chauffeur service, will you still have access to the arrivals lounge?

Yikes! So all US flights stay in old terminal. In a way, it's not bad if that means less traffic in lounges from other destinations?

You should. I've got access to the arrival lounge of the old terminal when arriving on business class ticket from MCT without any Chauffeur service.

Hi Ben,

So NYC flights and IAD flight do preclearance, does that mean that we will not have access to the First Class lounge at the new terminal?

Thanks
