I am flying from BLR-JFK on June 21st 2024 in business class. I was called and finromed that my flight from BLR-AUH is being downgraded to economy as they are changing the plane that travels. On my manage my flight option, I can see that the plane is A321-neo, and my seat has been removed. I will be moved to economy class. And they haven't provided any info on how much many I will receive as refund. Even after multiple contacts, they are not providing an answer.
For the region, and even aviation in general, this is more akin to a LCC cabin. A definite step down the ladder for Etihad, it hasn't just left the leading pack (Emirates, Qatar, Singapore), but even lost touch with followers (Lufthansa, British, Qantas,...). It's such a shame their product offering has become this inconsistent, ranging from ultra-luxurious to LCC. To be avoided unless their fares reflect the lesser quality offering.
