Qatar Airways is known for having one of the most modern fleets of any airline. The airline currently has just over 200 planes in their fleet, and has almost an additional 200 aircraft on order.

Looks Good! However, I would take this announcement with a very large grain of salt. I can almost guarantee these deliveries will be delayed.

I think you mean A380 rather than A321 when referring to selling seats at a decent price?

Technically, I don't see a reason that they couldn't put Q-Suites in these. It would be a 1-1 configuration, just like AA's Reverse Herringbones but it would fit and provide more consistency across their fleet. Now, whether that move makes financial sense is a whole other question.

I Guess that it’ll be used for their Central Asian or West/Central African routes. The ME3 barely have a foothold in these regions

From what I understand - the A321LR *IS* an A231NEO. The only difference is the option for some additional tanks? So it's not really then even a change of order. Just a slight modification.

I would be amazed if they offered B/E Super Diamonds on the 321s to keep their product more consistent and for more comfort on longer flights. Qsuites on the 321s would blow my mind, but I don't think there's enough space for them, though we all can wish!

No. At the scale EK operates the A380, they can sell each seat for 10-20% less than the competition and they'd still have the same margins. QR has to sell the A321 seats at a higher cost to achieve the same margin because it costs more per seat to operate: overall cost may be cheaper, but the A380 can divide the cost over many more seats.

No Q suites on an A321. It would cause a weight balance distribution issue before it even took off from the factory for delivery.

could they install reverse herringbone seats on a321LR previously installed on a350 put ripped out in favour for Q suites? Don't know what they're doing with the seats taken out in retrofits but it seems like a lot to go to waste.

@D3KingAmerican:

What about a modified version similar to the DL variant of the Vantage XL. Keep the colors and finishes uniquely QR - and have a true "suite" - but in a slightly modified configuration. B6 manages to have suites on A321s, albeit only 4, why couldn't QR?

Any move to perpetuate non direct-aisle access in the business class product is a backwards move in my opinion.

@AdamR the Q suites look heavier and more bulky as if they weigh more? Just a huntch.
