Lucky - El Al doesn't fly from sundown Friday to sunday Saturday for Shabbat. They certainly fly Friday mornings/early afternoons.
This is hypothetical since El Al is grounded having suspended operations since July and there are travel restrictions
I don't see how it can only be a total of 28 weekly flights. This doesn't leave any room for FlyDubai, Air Arabia Abu Dhabi or WizzAir Abu Dhabi. I wonder if this will end up being 28 weekly flights from EACH airport, AUH and DXB, by EACH country (a total of 104 flights per week between Israel and the UAE)?!? This allows Emirates and FlyDubai to have 2 flights per day and then Etihad can have their 2 per day with Air Arabia and Wizz getting 1 each per day. I can't imagine the Emiratis agreeing to a stringent cap for their egos, I mean airlines
@Aaron Israel does not restrict Palestinians living in the West Bank from flying.
@Steve-O - Is there really so much demand for this route that low-cost airlines are needed to fly that many flights?
This is awesome!!!!! Just so interesting how there is no DXB-DOH nonstop flight (due to the blockade) yet now there's a TLV-DXB nonstop flight!
The novelty is great, but I struggle to imagine there'll be enough demand to fill that many flights. Putting aside that Israir doesn't have the fleet to spare, if each of these four airlines uses the smallest planes in their respective fleets, that's still almost 5,500 seats per week, each way. With both sides needing visas, that volume seems unsustainable to me.
@FabinhoBP Turkey is a hotspot for the coronavirus and it is not safe these times to fly there. not to mention how unwelcoming and racists are the Turks towards Arabs in general , the major atmosphere in Turkey right now is bringing back the Ottoman occupation back to the Middle East , so basically it is very Anti-Semitic against the Arabian ethnicity and very unwelcoming
Agree with the earlier question. Is there really that much demand? Also, let's see other Arab nations open up to Israel.
@Jim I think many of the passengers to/from Israel will only transit in UAE, and you don’t need a visa for that.
