After flying from Sao Paulo to Detroit the previous evening, and then from Detroit to Atlanta to New York to Detroit, we were quite tired by the time we boarded our flight back to Sao Paulo. I do love Detroit Airport, and always find it ironic how nice it is given that’s in… Detroit.

@ Bob -- I have some SkyClub reviews I'll be posting separately after this report. 🙂

Were you on the right side of the plane? And if so, wouldn't that be 3D?

Man I love that Delta flies DTW-GRU. What an awesome international route

One of the best things about a half-empty DL BE cabin is that you can steal more Westin bedding and turn your seat into a pillowtop mattress! I flew a DTW-LHR leg with maybe four people in BE and it was wonderful.

Great, I fly Seattle to Asia on delta and while the recent changes to the Skyclub and global upgrades policy have really irritated me I don't know if switching to united is worth it. I fly from Tri cities and connect in Sea so that limits my choices. I wish I could switch to American but they don't fly out of pasco. Still like seeing Delta get so attention on here that isn't all bad.

US carriers are not "bad". They are just inconsistent, like Lucky could see on AA and DL.

@Lucky,

Love that you flew in and out of DTW and enjoy the airport. Usually have pretty high ranks and NWA made it what it is today. Now what hurts and this is coming because I live in Metro Detroit, is when people say "its so nice, but... its Detroit." Come and give Detroit a try. Sure not #1 place people want to travel to, but "don't knock it until you have tried it" is what I say. You'd be very surprised on what we have to offer.

On a great note. I love reading the reviews and travel experiences. Keep it up and safe travels.

I think Lucky should give Amtrak a try as well. Even if he ends up hating it I think it's kind of a logical prerequisite to try something before you bash it. Makes sense, right?

I must have had that same FA you had a flight, I don't understand why they don't smile or ask questions. So I decided to see how long the FA was going to stand next to me before she opened her mouth.. Lucky, I have a friend who is a FA supervisor for DL, so during the flight I just text him about my experiences and yes, have taken photos of the FA... Nothing gets changed unless the company knows of the problems.
