I wish [all] airlines would do away with neckties for FAs. It’s totally impractical for a job that requires so much bending and reaching, unhygienic, and there are loads of good looking uniforms out there that don’t need them to appear classy. Someday…
Delta's current uniforms are ugly, with odd styling and poor color choices. The new uniforms just look dumpy. Who on earth would ever turn to Lands End for uniforms? Missoni lawyers just be busy figuring out how their accessories got paired with Lands End - not a capsule collection they would have wanted.
I am surprised no one has reported on the Delta brand refresh (they partnered with London-based brand agency DixonBaxi). A few design sites featured highlights.
As a flight attendant for Delta Airlines of 35 years that ugly purple plum, whatever you wanna call it, it took the professional right out of me. I hated it with all my heart and soul.
It was horrible material that had tons of chemicals in it, it was uncomfortable, and as a flight attendant had to be in it for 12 hour flights to Europe, I sweated every second of it.
yikes...Everything about these uniforms screams "frumpy", not premium - should have consulted with a local Atlanta fashion designer, not Lands End. Virgin Atlantic may lose money because of their misguided route network influence from DL, but at least their uniforms are functional and stylish for all sizes.
Nothing to get too excited about but at least they look reasonably functional and not in the entirely ridiculous "Riyad" mode (although we are still waiting to see if those bizarre garments ever actually get off the ground)
Hopefully there will be no skin and allergy issues. That has been the downfall for many uniform projects

There's nothing more premium than Delta choosing Land End as it's uniform supplier.
The Missoni manufacturing license is owned by the royal family of Qatar, who are state sponsors of terrorism. Very premium. Not. It is shameful, though.
One is hopeful that the new uniforms come with free Mounjaro for those who need it, yes?
I don't find them very attractive. Looks as though DL has certainly embraced heavy set employees.
No, mate, Qatar is not currently designated as a state sponsor of terrorism by the USA (just Cuba, Iran, North Korea, and Syria.)

We’re in the era of ‘tone deafness’… folks starving here, yet, $40 billion to Argentina, a new Versailles at the White House, and a Great Gatsby themed party at Mar-a-Lago… what in the Gilded Age nonsense is all this…

It’s refreshing to see others, such as yourself, actually ‘get it.’ You’d think those who travel frequently would want crews to be well-paid, well-rested, and well-supported; yet, some forget how important all that is. Delta’s FAs should join the airlines’ pilots (since 1934!) and dispatchers in organizing.
The Zac Posen FA uniforms that were announced in 2017 were ugly. I liked the purple or plum but it was an odd choice since Delta’s colors were always red and blue. The actual design, particularly the men’s jackets and vests, was too modernist — almost sci-fi futurist.
This strikes me as much more classic and really a return to the look that Delta used in the late 2000s through 2017-ish.
At least the current uniforms had style. These new ones look like the rags that AA wears today and honestly, looks more like UA then DL. . .but what do I know.
It makes sense in terms of roll out as we’re expecting new Delta 1 soft and hard products soon especially with the incoming deliveries of A350-1000s.
Hopefully these uniforms won't be shellacked with the same toxic chemicals and polymers that plague many airline uniforms. It's been an issue across the board. When I worked for JetBlue and American, it wasn't uncommon for new employees to have terrible skin/breathing/allergic reactions, many whom never had problems previously.
I would really appreciate Delta to put those money in for improving customer experience and employee wellness rather than those useless things, well it may be useful for somebody.
Gantt is so upset about this because oogling flight attendants is the closest he usually gets to a real woman
US airlines can come up with all the new uniforms they want. Having an entirely presentable crew is another thing. And I am not talking about age, sex, make up, body weight etc. I am talking about wearing a 'unifrom'.
The US crews are always so easy to spot in airports outside the USA - whether it be Delta, AA, UA or wherever. They will be the ones wearing a quasi-uniform with some of their own clothing items (winter jackets, scarves, cardigans) along with a cabin bag with about six plastic shopping bags attached to it. And there will be the token one or two that will look immaculate.
One word ,Boring new Uniform.
Nothing new and on top of this ,and still no rules for having long hair in a ponytail or similar .
You can look elegant and representative for the Airline with a good practical uniform .
Remember first impression for the passengers and brand .
Just look at several European airlines .
Thank Goodness! this change to revert back to the use of Delta colors is the best move!
