If I was a passenger on that flight, I'd have told her to shut her f'ing trap. It's my right as an athiest NOT to be forcefully proselytized to, by song or otherwise. If Delta did not shut her up, I'd be sueing Delta for subjecting me to forced religious indoctrination!
I'm sure at least half the uproar about this lady has to do with her love for the Lord. Most of the people on this site, including Ben, are anti-God.
100% agree it's rude to sing, use speakerphone, speakers, etc on a plane or any other confined space. But let's just admit most of you are reviled by her faith in the Lord.
Sorry, have to agree with the passenger on this one. He came across very aggressive. She seems like a nice person and wasn’t reactive to his behaviour, he should have dealt with the situation differently.
Most people don't care about others' beliefs one way or the other. They just don't want to hear about them in word or song as a (literal) captive audience. If this lady was singing in a park, people can walk away. On a plane? Yeah, no.
That's not anti-god, that's anti noise. Personally I wouldn't want to hear Taylor Swift or Placido Domingo or Yo-Yo Ma on a plane, unless they're via my own headphones or earbuds.
I wonder if she is dealing with mental health issues. It seems like an odd thing to do especially given how enthusiastic and irrational she was. Often times when people act this erratic it could be secondary to mania, emotional breakdown or stress, personality issues.

I don’t deny anyone the right to worship their higher being in whatever form they think that exists. But in your home. In your church. And in your heart. Delta shouldn’t have apologised. The cabin crew did what was necessary for the other passengers’ comfort but were probably too non-confrontational. If she wants to sing her gospel, do it in front of people who are interested, not a captive audience.

I don’t care what the topic or content, singing or making noise to that level to a captive audience on an airplane is wrong. Good on the crew to stand up to her. I bet if any passenger did so, they’d be canceled.

Seriously. The same is true for kid choirs/bands that think it's somehow appropriate to serenade an entire plane. No, it's not appropriate. I understand they THINK they're just making everyone's flight more pleasant, but they're wrong. They're not. I wish more airlines responded the way this FA did. Religious or not, a plane is NOT the place for someone or some group to decide what every other passenger needs to hear/see. It's not cute. It's not fun. It's not adorable. It's fucking obnoxious.
Haha I was thinking the same thing. Seems like every couple months, a video or article surfaces of somebody playing the ukulele, accordion or didgeridoo on SW and the FA’s encouraging and applauding them.
What's even sadder is that, had it been a non-christian preacher/singer/whatever, everybody would have applauded a diversion and a (very) forceful removal. But since this is about a religion politically relevant in the US, it suddenly becomes an issue of "religious freedom".

I've prayed on planes, that people around me will shut up, babies will stop screaming, and this metal contraption will get me back to the ground safely.

I flew on a transcon recently where the "influencer" next to me spent the entire flight recording videos. Apparently, she wasn't actually breaking any rules because she wasn't on a call. But, really? The young lady is a narcissist, self-entitled, unsocialized, and a piece of trash. There's no excuse for subjecting your fellow passengers to something they didn't sign up to "enjoy." "Gospel" means "truth" and the truth is that she should have been 86'd from that flight and from every Delta flight going forward.
You can have your religion. You can even preach it. Sing if you like. Not to a captive audience, and not one that includes me and not one where the people in charge (the FA in this case) has already warned her more than once.
I think she was very disobedient. The bible say follow all laws of the land and obey officials. She can't be disrespectful and unruly and arrogant and hide behind the Lord. That's not right at all. She was being really disrespectful you're not supposed to stand in the isle of a plane at all she suppose to stay in her seat unless she's going to the bathroom. I agree that she violated the space of every passenger that didn’t want to hear her sing. Not everyone has her views and she needs to “preach” in an open audience NOT one that has no choice BUT to hear her! She should have done like GET IN…BUCKLE UP….AND SHUT UP!
I am a Christian and I have faith and I am not ok with this woman who feels compelled to preach to a captive audience.
In this day and age, with the knowledge of how faith has led to hatred, diviseness, persecution, and genocide, we need to understand and respect there are many faiths (including those who believe in nothing) and keep any conversations and attempted conversions (even well intended ones) to one-on-one or friend group discussions.
This sense of belligerent entitlement would make me incredibly nervous of flying with her. It hints at a religious extremism which is often dangerously close to violence.
Follow the rules, respect the cabin crew and your fellow travellers, and mind your business.
There is a 0% chance that Delta apologized to her. Either it's a complete fabrication on her part, or she filed a complaint on their site and received a stock response "We're sorry you had a bad experience. Have a nice day."
If she had only read the financial statements and knew about Delta's ability to command premium revenue this never would have happened!

I do agree with most of the comments that are critical of the woman's action. However, many of us enjoy videos of choirs, the cast of The Lion King, or other performers doing the same thing. I guess the difference is her music has overtly religious content.
Do you enjoy those in concert, comfort of home, or an airplane? The latter is not a place for any of that. I wouldn't care if it was my favorite artist wanting singing their best hit, I just want a quiet as can be had flight from point A to point B. This has nothing to do with overtly religious content and everything to do with being in a public space and acting disruptive.
The BIBLE also teaches to obey others over you. I really believe she was being disobedient, and she needs to have a talk with GOD about her behavior. I understand she was excited, but she can use this as a learning experience, and let the flight leader be concerned for her and the other passengers' safety.
Who did this piece on Bobbi storm is the devil you can not speak for everyone you can only speak for yourself. They may have been someone on the plane going through something and her singing may her brought them through it something when I am traveling I listen to gospel to keep me going if the people on the plane was not complaining I don't see what was the big deal.

Is it true that there are different cultures in the USA that view public spectacles differently? Do African-Americans like audience-entertainer interaction more than other groups? Are African-Americans more likely to be self-confident in public in general? Should we respect different cultures and how they view things differently?

"God" seems to be quite versatile when giving command. From cute gospel songs to entire obliteration of nations through his bad skills of anger management.
