@Brian G.: I don't know for sure, but my guess is VIP Select is really geared toward transcon flights. I suspect you still have to go through CBP clearance (or use Global Entry) like a plebe otherwise.
Nice writeup, Terminal 6 is the worst but at least you can cross back/forth with the subterranean tunnel and enjoy Terminal 5 and sneak over before flight departure back to 6.
The project has modernized the terminal into a passenger friendly environment. The new interiors and exteriors propel the terminal into the 21st century keeping up with the other upgraded terminals at LAX.
I also enjoyed the food court and found many healthy choices.
With Continental BL (before Lorenzo), you had a decent shot at flying with B and even A list stars in first class out of LAX. Is Richard Anderson trying to become the Robert Six of the 21st century and going after that market with this product?
You missed the single best perk of the new terminal. There is now a Premium TSA Pre-check line so Skypriority passengers have an expedited Pre-check line. Every airport needs this now that TSA is giving away Pre-check like candy.
