I have travelled 6 times in Etihad over the last few months and even though I enter my American AA number at time of booking, and also request the check in associate to ensure its present in the record, I still have to file a retroactive claim with American to get the miles credited. Has this happened to anyone else?
Rakuten announced 10 days of November deals, of note on 11/3 (just happens to be election day...) Expedia is at 12x on hotels. Obviously not the only place to get 12% on hotels (Citi Strata Elite / AA Exec Card through portals also come to mind) but when you stack with things like Citi Strata Premier 3x on travel agencies, getting 15x is really pretty good. That said, you only get the points with Rakuten some period of time after the stay, plus then waiting for the next quarterly distribution, so 12x closer to today is probably worth 15x in the 6-12 month out future.
Some other decent brands from 11/1-11/10 from 15-30x if you are gift shopping. As they say in New Jersey, Ho-Ho-Ho-Kus.
