Ben - Wouldn't the Venture X be the best card for beginners at this hobby? I find myself recommending the Venture X to friends and family without overwhelming them with coupons and bonus categories. The $300 annual credit plus 10k points makes it so easy to justify the annual fee to someone who may not be convinced about getting an ROI of a high annual fee.
find it funny says $100 hotel credit is basically cash - except Chase Travel hotels are often 10% more expensive than booking directly, and you don't get any elite benefits. and this expires. of course it's just like cash!
