Looks great. Good for Chase and CSR holders.
Still find it hilarious that UA and Chase view themselves as lounge competitors versus working together like DL/Amex do.
Even AA/Citi are more on the same page about lounges, and Citi doesn't even have any of its own.
Good move to install a large ventilation fan/shaft above the bar to withdraw the stale air from the bar . If a customer wears a party hat for New Years Eve , the ventilation shaft will suction up the party hat into the shaft real quick-like . On non-party days , the fam/shaft will suction up the olives or peanuts placed around the bar .
Concourse A where the club used to be is literally at the end of the terminal. It’s a terrible location for anyone but A gate sand maybe S gate passengers.
Is it me or the design language, specially look like cousins of the newly opened United Club IAH bar area.
I think even 2028 is optimistic. United is adding a second floor to their new lounge (which btw is the old Amex Studio) and they just started. They have to move out of the existing United Club before work can even start on the new "club" unless they will do some of this work in the expansion space that never opened it's going to be a long while.
@1990 - Agree completely - Citi needs to enter the game. The reality is the DL/Amex model works well - it's the starbucks theory, they do better when there are two starbucks across the street from each other. Likewise when there's a Skyclub and Centurion lounge down the hall from each other.
Meanwhile, Chase and United keep their clubs as far away from each other as possible. I mean, seriously, why would Chase not take the space in EWR TA? Great that it will be a huge Amex lounge now, but... isn't that a bit insane?
I feel like the UA/Chase relationship is one where there was a marital divorce because they can't stand each other, but they both still own a really, really profitable business together, so they make it work.
