Presumably the apron views won't be as nice as the Centurion Lounge since the Capital One Lounge will be on the lower level. But I look forward to the food options.
I'll give them credit, they leaned hard on the local angle and got it mostly right with minimal cringe. Although I suspect if any of the customers who are going to use this lounge actually knew what Mars Bar was like back in the day, they wouldn't be very excited.
You do know Murray's Cheese is Kroger? They bought it about 8 years ago. They still have good sourcing but if you said an exclusive Kroger experience, people would die laughing.
This obviously looks nice, but I guess I'm wondering what's the reason for T4? That terminal is already saturated with credit card lounges between the SkyClubs, Centurion, Sapphire, and Clubhouse.
Wouldn't it have made more sense to go into a terminal w/ less competition like the AA terminal at T8 or another airport altogether?
Even as a credit card fanatic myself, I can't stand to open multiple card with hundreds of dollars in fees. A major West Coast airport would've made a lot of sense given there's way less competition in terms of CC lounges.
@ yoloswag420 -- I think it comes down to a couple of factors. First, credit card issuers go to airports where they can actually identify opportunities to open lounges, given how tough it is to come by lounge space. Clearly T4 had some space. Second, I think the fact that competitors have lounges there is all the more reason for Capital One to open a lounge there to compete, in order to not lose market share in a place like NYC.
But I hear you, it would be nice to get more lounges at other airports...
I’m flying an international flight into T4 in a few weeks and have a long layover before departing from T8.
I wonder how early AA will let me recheck my bag for my connecting flight so I can get airside to visit this lounge in T4. Anyone know?
Does T4 security allow me entry if my boarding pass is for another terminal? I've read different terminals have different policies. I can't keep track.
It'd be nice if they can renovate landside areas as the paint is literally peeling, broken tiles, etc.

One thing to note: this lounge is operated by Prime class, not Plaza Premium. Is this a permanent shift for Cap One, or just an opportunity?
What do you think is the business justification for operating the lounge 24/7? This isn't DXB with round-the-clock flights.
Loved the Landing in DC and will be in JFk next month but T8. How much time would you allow to get from t8 (after checking bags) to t4 , pass through security, enjoy an hour in the lounge, and get back to T8 for a 3:30 pm flight on a Saturday (with clear and pre-check) .
If I leave T8 at noon, is that enough?
Alternative is AA Greenwich lounge . Trying to decide if it’s worth it, but will be near Jfk the night before.
JFK is pretty-darned-close to 24H operation - flights to East Asia 1-2am, Latin America and the Caribbean after that
To differentiate themselves from the other lounges/cards in T4, and thus get more VentureX sign-ups. I could see frequent travelers who have experienced delays late into the night/overnight being very interested in this lounge/VentureX
Hooray! coincidentally, I'll be at JFK T4 this Thursday. Here's hoping that the new lounge doesn't have lines stretching 20 people-deep like the Amex and Chase lounges have. It would be nice to use this lounge instead of the (dilapidating) VS lounge, that's for sure.
When you hand your ID to TSA at the first podium, all they check is that you have a same-day flight out of that airport. Terminal is immaterial. TSA policy is to let you into any terminal. Potentially the Officer will say you’re in the wrong terminal but if you reply that you understand and that you’re there to visit the lounge or whatever, they’ll let you through.
I have a six-hour layover coming up following an international flight. What are your thoughts on hitting the Greenwich Lounge in T8, followed by the Capital One Lounge in T4, then actually flying from T5? Will going through security 3x within several hours raise any eyebrows with TSA?
The lounge sounds great if you are flying Delta out of T4. Not much good if you are flying AA/One World or JetBlue out of T8 or T5
Out of the 3 credit card lounges, and the Delta One lounge, which one would you say is the best?
Also @Ben, I was thinking, it would be interesting for you to do an end to end airport review on which airport has the most premium departure/arrival/connecting experiences.
For example, I think the new Delta One check-ins at LAX/JFK are quite underrated with how seamless it is at taking you from check-in to the D1 lounges.
Or something like the Virgin Upper Class Wing in LHR. Flagship First check-in at JFK, JAL's First Class entrance at HND, etc.
I really wish this had opened in T8. There's no lounge option for domestic flyers, unless you have a foreign OW carrier status. We need a credit card lounge ASAP.

NICE! And it’s kept cool, which is welcome after the sauna that is JFK.
THERE WAS NO LINE! It’s also not “showy” from the outside like the Amex and Chase lounges are, signage wise. At the bar where I sat, they…need more bartenders. There are eight people waiting and two bartenders. Everyone is amazingly nice. The tarmac views are terrific, and part of the lounge seems to be directly below the Delta One lounge.
The lounge is located directly across from The Apothecary, and between Hugo Boss and Corsa, on the south side of the terminal, for those who find landmarks helpful.
One thing to note: if you’re flying out on Delta, the lounge is positioned perfectly; for VS and EY and SQ flights, not so much.
All in all, a very nice addition to T4.
