Review: British Airways Lounge Washington Dulles Airport (IAD)

Shocking considering how terrible PHL is, and how bad IAH and ORD were.

Why worry? Sometimes it's nice to see a variety of lounges at different airports.

Wouldn't more foot traffic make it less quiet?

The facelift does look good, but in the past, there was a basic buffet section outside of the dining room (where the the self-serve drink and snack area is), and within the dining room, you could order food off of a menu. But still, the quality and quantity of food does look good either way. I'm guessing the first class dining room must look good as well.

Honestly, I don’t think they did much in terms of a refresh. New chairs in terminal facing area and maybe some new counters, but basically the same. Source: BA Gold whose main US airport is IAD but who hasn’t seen it post refresh other than these pics.

I live in DC and have used that lounge many times, although not in the past 9 months. To be honest, the pictures look almost identical to the way it's always looked, maybe just some updated furniture although I think the older furniture was pretty swanky (just getting a little worn out). It's always been a pretty good lounge so I don't think it needed much improving, just a little updating of finishes.

Reading all of this Lucky reviews of lounges at IAD and DCA from his recent visit made me realize how lucky we are here with some good lounge choices. The new Capital Ones at IAD and DCA, plus the Chase lounge at IAD, are really great.

Y'all really are lucky! I always look forward to lounge hopping every time I have a layover at IAD. I also love to walk along the gates in Concourses A and B to see the variety of airlines departing (especially in the evenings)!

yeah, this sentence didn't make sense to me either.

Absolutely agree with everything. It is an excellent lounge with great food and drink, and I enjoyed dining there before the late night flight to LHR. I think it used to get bad reviews from the PP people who only got in before 2 or so when they basically had only sodas and crisps. I haven’t been to the Concorde F dining room in a while - post-pandemic they had reduced dining there, but I hope that a special F menu has been brought back. I think only Polaris is better, though Cap One and Virgin are also very good (albeit Virgin is getting dated).

im flying back in F in July - has anyone tried the F dining ?

The IAD showers have horrifyingly terrible water pressure.

Does anyone know if an AA EP can access this lounge on an AA domestic ticket?

@ Max Z -- Those who earn oneworld Emerald through AAdvantage don't get lounge access when traveling domestically within the US. It differs from Star Alliance Gold, where you can access non-US carrier lounges in the US.

Did you sit at any of the tables with the low hanging lights?

2 of our group banged their heads hard when standing up from the chair or banquette.

I asked the bar server about it and she saidAl MANY passengers do it.

It has been reported but no change.

Maybe you have some influence?
