Review: British Airways Lounge Miami Airport (MIA)

I dunno, that seems like an above average food selection for an outstation lounge.

Kudos to BA for this. I guess this is probably the best lounge now at MIA (though that is a low bar to clear).

Great lounge, never felt too busy even when it was almost at capacity ahead of BA's A380 as well as IB and QR departing. The staff was quite good with repleneshing the buffet with food, however they seem to not have enough plates and silverware (or perhaps a very slow dishwasher). Furthermore two bathroom stalls are definitely not enough and there was always a wait for them if you had to "sit down" or wanted to change your clothes.

Easily the best lounge in Miami, when compared to the overcrowded Admirals Clubs/Flagship on D, and the absolutely heinous lounge situation over on Concourse J.

Question for the OMAAT hive mind:
Is lounge design homogenization a problem?

This could be a new Chase lounge, or a new Amex lounge, or a new [insert name here] with durable surfaces, middling food, and creative drinks.

The signs give three different directions towards the lounge.

The gate map is terrible . It ought to be color-coded : blue for even-numbered gates , and yellow for odd-numbered gates . Also , it ought to be divided into parts , rather than one long stick thing .

This lounge is a long way from Concourse D, where AA's international flights generally depart. The Flagship Lounge at D30 is a better alternative for otherwise qualifying OW elites and business/first class flyers leaving trom D than this lounge.

Is it me, or are lounges starting to all look kind of the same? If I had seen the pictures without knowing it's British Airways, it could have looked like a Capital One or Chase or Delta One or even Air France lounge. I feel like the dark blue, copper and wood is everywhere. It does look pretty and nothing wrong with it, but I'm surprised airline lounges aren't trying to differentiate themselves a bit more.

It's not that deep, they're probably using similar design firms and architects.

Different eras have different looks, you look back in the 1900s, each decade has many buildings looking the same, representative of that time.

Things will change and evolve, 5, 10, 15 years from now, there will be another look.

I've visited this lounge three or four times since it opened while flying long haul J American metal as a OWE. Never had any issues with entry. The food is much better than what is typically offered at the Flagship Lounge in recent months which is why I bother walking all the way over to Terminal E for this lounge.

The bathrooms are much more stylish than the hospital-like ones in the Heathrow lounges.

has anyone tried to enter this lounge with OWS/OWE not on a longhaul flight? If I have a non AA/AS OWS/OWE loyalty level traveling on domestic AA/AS flight they still wouldn't allow me entry even though AA flagship would? Has anyone tried yet?

Don Julio 70 is good stuff. I hope they have it at the BA lounge @ LHR where I'll be in a couple months. I didn't see it there last year.

let's be honest. it's not very good. the food served in small portions is annoying, compare with the first lounge at Heathrow T5. my wife asked for a mohito from the "world class" bartentenders and it was awful. We were there early days so maybe it has improved, but I think it is style above substance

The BA lounge in Miami has to be one of the best lounges in the U.S. I love the new decor and colors. As for the food on offer, as said, one won’t get a meal in the general lounge.

Nice! This opened (2025?) after I relocated from the area, and I haven’t had the chance to experience it yet. Thank you, Ben, for reviewing it. Glad to see E get some love, though MIA could use even more. Definitely makes sense for QR flights since they often fly from there and the Flagship at D is farther.

Looks like an outpost lounge. It looked good and well maintained but I would not go as far to say it looked beautiful or spectacular.

I've eaten in the Concorde Dining and it’s probably the best food in any BA lounge. Better than Chelsea in JFK and up there with QF F SYD. Huge prawns, huge scallops, nice steak.

Not that I minded the decor, but it looked like something I would see on cruise ship.

I used the lounge for the first time in January returning to London. Was really impressed. Highly recommended. Great staff. Look forward to seeing this standard rolled out to other countries and of course London Heathrow where apart from the lounge at B gates they are always so crowded and very tired looking
