Wow. That's quite a lot of spend for a lounge pass. I wonder how much SYD lounges were asking for Priority Pass to turn that much money down in favor of restaurants. The AMEX and SkyTeam lounge are pretty mediocre anyways. Even Silverkris is nothing too special.
Is Priority Pass only available to US credit card holders? How do you get access to it if you live in Australia?

I visited these places today in terminal 2 and 3 after a tip off, however being new to Priority Pass they took a while to validate the card. Wok on Air took 25 minutes (!) to validate after reading the instruction manual and a couple of calls to tech support.
MoVida wasn't accepting Priority Pass today due to 'terminal issues' but they should get that sorted pretty quickly.
Managed to 'spend' about $100 here today between terminals 2 and 3. If I lived in Sydney I'd be back tomorrow to sample the menu as they didn't check my boarding pass 😉
Good stuff - congratulations to Priority Pass for adding value. I'll look forward to taking advantage of the new options in the next weeks. A big hole in their program is at ORD for connecting domestic travelers. I'd like to see something like this happen there.
It's the same with LoungeKey, I presume because they're owned by the same company.
+1 on what DaveS said - Chicago ORD options are only viable if you're traveling out of International terminal, no domestic lounge in any of the other terminals for PP. I'm hoping this starts a trend in at least the major hubs that are missing PP lounge options.
It would be great if PP starts doing more of this at other airports, especially ones where lounges turn away PP customers due to overcrowding (i.e. SEA). Really I'm mostly looking for some nibbles and a couple of drinks when I visit a lounge. A ~$20-25 F&B credit is just as good for me.

Yes this is definitely adding value to the benefit. An overcrowded dark lounge with stale sandwich can't compete with fresh food and drinks from a restaurant. Let's hope they start adding this to US hubs and smaller airports with nothing as well!
A good move, the more of these sort of setups the better. Can't believe how generous some US cards are with unlimited guests - that could get very expensive very quickly, they must be making an absolute mint in interchange fees to cover it!
Priority pass so far has not been worth it.
In Orlando, not where we were departing from, so too far to get to and from.
In Auckland, a huge come down compared to the Emirates biz lounge.
Didn't know about the SYD deal. We flew April 24 from SYD to SFO. We were in QF biz lounge. It was satisfactory and enormous, but a downgrade compared to Emirates.
Quite happy about this. Before moving from Aust to the UK a bit over 6 years ago, the only PP lounges were the United lounge in Melbourne, and one that I can't remember in Brisbane in the international terminal. Sydney was barren, but admittedly there were Qantas lounges in all 3 terminals that I had access to regardless of who I was flying with.
My PP membership was used mainly in Asian and European airports, and occasionally in the US when I wasn't flying American, so if it didn't come free with my Amex card, I certainly wouldn't have bothered paying for it. I find it a great bonus now that I'm living in the UK, as there is a PP lounge at the vast majority of airports in Europe regardless of size - albeit the Gatwick lounges are difficult to get access to if catching a morning flight.
With the removal of the QF lounge in T2 in recent years, I'll be more than happy to partake of the tapas menu at MoVida when flying DeathStar. Probably the same for terminal 1 if I don't fly enough QF flights and drop from Platinum to Gold, as I'm guessing the Qantas Business lounge is still crappy. Haven't tried the Amex lounge in T1, but it was the old QF First lounge, and has a great view of the apron alongside the pier, and the ability to look at the undercarriage of the nearest plane.
Wow, this is amazing. Kudos to PP for doing this, there are so few PP lounges in Australia, this would really make the membership worthwhile (even better when it is free with my Amex Plat). I think from now on I will BYO my food and drinks into the QF and Amex lounges.
My wife and I just tried to order breakfast at the Peroni Bar in SYD and was told "the priority pass machine was broken". I asked if she could just copy my priority pass details down and sort it later and was told no. She asked me to pay cash or credit instead.
Things aren't off to a good start.
Thanks for this notification. We are travelling to Sydney on 2 June. Will give it a go! So far Priority Pass has not been great. My husband got turned away at Auckland Airport a couple of months ago due to over crowding. I didn't think such a thing existed. We usually go to the Air New Zealand lounge which is never so over crowded that entry is refused.
Re the Auckland Lounge - the PP lounge has now moved into the old Air NZ lounge as Air NZ has built a new one. So it's better than the one Jim may have visited in early 2017. Still nothing to rave about but much better than the old one.
Flying out of Sydney T1 tomorrow so will update you guys on how that goes... might be a bit early for Better Burger though...
Also - has anyone got the NZ World Mastercard & been able to use "guesting privileges"? The T&C's say it's up to the lounge. The Nadi Fiji lounge told me to call HK PP head office who told me to contact Westpac the issuer who told me to ask the lounge... No one could actually confirm yay or nay and given we were already at the lounge I was unable to take a guest in without any confirmation. Average.
Hey guys, Sydney airport update - the PP worked great at Better Burger (previously Benny burger??) The lady knew her stuff and over 2 cards we got AUD72 worth of food - nuts! She didn't know if my card had guesting privileges but I didn't want to take the risk of trying it and getting charged if it wasn't. The guy at Peroni bar was also helpful but their lunch menu only started at 11am so didn't work for us.
Both places were familiar with PP and knew they simply had to swipe the card.
