Lucky, Alaska Airlines also offers a $10 discount for Mileage Plan members. Instead of offering larger discounts for their elites, they offer bonus points for signing up or renewing through them. It might be a better option for MVPs to go through them and collect the 1,250 - 1,500 bonus points on their free CLEAR Plus membership through AMEX cards.
Why would anyone consider spending even a second of their time to register through Delta or United to save Amex $10?
Fair point. I hadn’t given much thought to that, since my wife and I get separate credits, and our (minor) daughter can accompany us without her own account (unlike with Global Entry).
I’ve given up on clear. It takes longer to use clear at IAD and nothing has changed despite all the huffing and puffing from from Clear about “working with TSA” . Im in LGA every week and terminal B doesn’t have clear. As the cost has gone up, the value has gone down.
Absolutely agree, that AmEx reimbursement for CLEAR is an excellent perk of a Platinum card. I was pleasantly surprised that AmEx reimbursed me the $70 for both family member's CLEAR membership when I charged it on my Platinum card. I also enjoyed the Global Entry & PreCheck reimbursement.
