Can’t wait for fat slobs in these comments saying they don’t use Lululemon or equinox (effectively telling on themselves and the reasons why they’re fat slobs)
A friend who is not really in the hobby makes enough on the everyday credits that it's a keeper for him. And, if he can, anyone in the hobby can.
Do you now if the Oura Ring credit only applies to the purchase of a new device or can also be used to pay for their monthly membership access?
Lululemon is not the yoga female store it started as. They have greatly expanded their product selection and sell men’s clothes too. Anyone, not just yoga ladies, can find usable products there to use the Amex credits.
The Equinox credits, however, I will granted, they are too niche for most of us. Same with that ring credit.
HSBC Elite is 5x in both Flights and hotels . So Amex not quite the class beater in that regard
Any word if Centurion card is getting any enhancements either? They've only listed a few new benefits on their website
I see. It indeed might be the greatest coupon ever sold. And if you think lounge overcrowding is bad now….
I do not think the Saks credit continues because if you go to the card details without logging in for a new application, it is not listed in the terms and conditions.
Card is no longer worth it. Lounges are overcrowded. Airline redemptions require too many points.
We know Lucky that you don't have an un-conflicted approach to cards given your business model, but a bit of reality would help your credibility
They definitely did better with the credits compared to the last time they increased the AF.
Entertainment Credit - Great. I have both Youtube TV and Youtube Premium
Resy - Fairly easy to use in ATL
Saks - Not bad. I can usually find something twice a year to buy for wife or as Xmas gift.
Just those 3 are already $800 in value.
Lulu, Oura Ring, Uber - Not bad. These are things I'm somewhat interested in but probably wouldn't use without these credits, but that's another $700 in straight credits. Will definitely discount these based on personal value to maybe $400-500.
All the other benefits and credits I would say add just a little bit more value. Will just Zero them out. 5x back is meh since I don't buy flights enough, lounges are usually too packed in ATL to even bother, hotel benefits are meh. Concierge is nice especially when traveling to a country that's not great with English but not something I use often enough.
Really wish they added a 2-3x restaurant multiplier.
So about 40-45% return on the AF is pretty solid imo.
I applied for the card through the link, and my application went into a security review. When I called the reconsideration line (800-567-1083), they transferred me to another department. For verification, they sent me a secure link to upload my ID (passport or driver’s license, front and back) and take a selfie from my phone.
After all that, I was approved for only 50,000 points. The rep said the offer was “up to 175,000 points” and that I should have read the fine print. They also mentioned that because my application went through a security check, they couldn’t tell me on the spot how many points I’d be approved for.
Is it really legal for them to advertise “up to 175,000 points” and then approve someone for much less? This “up to” language feels pretty misleading.
