Man is it misleading to expect a "Gulfstream charter" and not be chartering a gulfstream.
I'm perplexed why you'd think an aircraft they have already leased to someone else would have been flying this route? If Aruba Airlines leased a plane then I'd imagine it's because they want to use it themselves! Not least because they presumably have many planes either doing nothing or being used inefficiently at the moment.
It also seems like the perfect thing for a struggling airline to do - guaranteed income.
Perhaps it's just the "house style" here, but both you and Ben (mainly Ben!) regularly seem shocked by completely mundane, rational and expected events!
@ Callum -- It's not uncommon for an airline to operate wet leases for multiple airlines at once, especially if we're talking about a once daily flight on a sub-two hour flight. This isn't uncommon at all.

Why you are talking about this airline when you are a premium blog. Stick with premium class.
@Lucky - I'm well aware it's not uncommon. The article states the aircraft was "leased to", not "operating occasional flights on a wet lease basis"...
If it's a just a wet lease, maybe I should add article inaccuracies to the list!

Yes indeed so WOW air operates its own routes with 14 planes currently. This afternoon will be the first time in weeks that actually all their planes will be in the air or abroad. With the launch of the Orlando route today (8 flights before they stop in January) they were even short of one aircraft, so they pushed the Barcelona departure today from 7.00 a.m. to 03.00 tomorrow to do a turn around without leaving the plane standing 17 hours in Barcelona.
After they terminate various routes in January I'm wondering if the downsizing to 11 planes includes the two ones being used for the wet-lease currently.
