WOW Air's Revenue Management team better starts to sharpen their pencils because those rates are not that attractive and the value is minimal when you think about it... for only $60 more (based on the sample fares you provided above) passengers can experience British Airways' proper World Traveler Plus service and earn miles into any Oneworld airline.
James, it would be useful if you could compare the WOW product to what you call "proper premium economy" on other airlines. You keep saying it's inferior, but why?
Could you not just book the low cost ticket and then pay for the XXL seat? I believe it’s $75/leg
Agreed - wider seats with more pitch, complementary meals and drinks, 2 checked bags included... Where's the difference to what you call "proper" premium economy products and how does it make them more proper compared to what Wow offers?
If they install reverse herringbone seats, I would gladly take a nonstop flight from US west coast to Reykjavik. Until then, I’ll flying BA first class to Heathrow and then take business class seat to Reykjavik. Sadly Delta removed proper business seats from JFK to Reykjavik.

Thanks for this. But can I get you to verify that you are using correct terminology? "Direct" means the plane stops at an intermediate point and retains the same flight number. There may or may not be a change of gauge/aircraft.
"Nonstop" means that a flight goes from point A to point B with no intermediate stops whatsoever.
Most of the time, the distinction is irrelevant to a story being told, but in these cases, where we're talking about the price of convenience, the distinction is quite relevant.

@ Drew - I agree but this was just one route I picked to do a price comparison. I have seen BA offer premium economy + 7 nights accommodation from London to various places in the Caribbean for under GBP1,000 return pp which I consider to be a great deal
@ Max, @ snic - when people book premium economy on a carrier like Singapore Airlines or Qantas they expect every single aspect of the experience to be better than economy. While WOW can offer some of the expected perks like priority boarding and check-in, I doubt the service, IFE, food or drinks would be any better than those purchasing it in economy.
@Drew For a "true" premium economy from SFO to HKG on Singapore Air, you are looking around that price. For a not really premium economy from SEA to HKG on Delta is around 1000's. Seatguru is your friend to know what you are getting. There are low end and high end premium economy out there and this is why I would like to see more people writing about these seats.
@James - But the seat might be better, if it's really similar to a US domestic first class seat.
I think a comprehensive description and comparison of different airlines' premium economy products (and pricing!) would make for a GREAT post! 😉
