A ”media personality and political commentator” is facing backlash online for the disgusting comments he made about an American Airlines flight attendant. However, I don’t think this is getting quite enough attention yet, and I hope that (at a minimum) the airline bans him from traveling with the carrier going forward.

I guess some of you finally too my “tell them how you really feel” seriously. Again, if you’re gonna be rude to crews, and to those who literally serve you, please do tell them, preferably before meal or beverage service. Drink/eat up!

I just wish we could go to their workplace, film/ take pictures of them, and post it online with commentary.

If there was a legal basis for a suit, presumably it would be libel?

If I am not mistaken, free speech applies only on public land / government property, not private property. So American Airlines will be within their rights to ban him for anything done on the aircraft.

I agree it has gotten worse recently. The comments section as well with 80% of the posts attacking Tim instead of just ignoring him.

Correct, the first amendment *only* protects from government censorship. A lot of people don't understand that private companies, organizations, and individuals are freely allowed to censor speech, which could include a ban in this case.

Ban the jerk from American Airlines, then convince the other US Airlines to follow suit and ban him from all airlines. They are non-governmental companies and all have the right to decline business,

Totally uncalled for. The Internet gave us great things and bad things (this is an example of a bed thing).

This person is a piece of work-in addition to the above assaults, he has repeatedly screamed at a Guyanese politician while she was working.
His choice of "pig" here is interesting. He enjoys sharing the current White House occupier's social posts who also likes calling a woman "pig".

So, you're just drawing more attention to it by feeling the need to write about it.

pig onboard is not about free speech it is about basic human decency. I do not care about the legal aspects in the USA, I care about that woman's human rights

She should sue him and at least AA should close his AAdvantage account and ban him from flying. Free speech has limits.

Your right to free speech in the US is not determined by where in the US you are standing. Free speech prevents the government from limiting/punishing your speech. Your employer can (typically) fire you and the owner of a business may ban you. Vic, if you're not an American, I hope that helps. Vic, if you are an American, WTF, do schools not cover this?

Three separate incidents over the year (all with women) is a pattern.

You are incorrect. The First Amendment prevents the government and its agencies from restricting free speech. Your (non-government) employer, social clubs, private schools/universities, social media platforms, and the airline you travel with can restrict your speech any way they like, and you have no legal recourse. It’s all there in black & white in the constitution. Perhaps you may wish to actually read what it says.

Back to Guyana would be unpleasant enough. It’s a bit of a shithole.
