@Juno there’s no way an airline like Jet airways(let alone Etihad) would join SkyTeam...
Of course its Delta calling the shots. If DL have a dislike of any of the remaining partners they will get the chop also. Look at any of the relationships DL are involved in and you quickly notice they are always the ones in charge.
Why is Jet joining SkyTeam considered impossible? Especially since they now have JV with AFKL and route their N.America bound flights through SkyTeam hubs.
The new Jet Airways CEO Vinay Dube is ex-Delta. This should explain partly why they want to go the route or Sky Team + Etihad and get rid of all others in due time. I think, eventually, Etihad's stake would be taken over by Delta. Note: Delta doesn't fly into India currently so all these things when they pan out would make all the sense.
@Sam......that makes sense....but I don’t think Etihad would let that happen given the big three American carriers have said a lot against the big two gulf carriers..........(excluding Akbar Al-Baker)
