I have the offer, although I lost my old AA account. Haven’t flown with them since 2019 until last year. This will be a fun little points boost.

I didn’t get the offer either. Although I wouldn’t have accepted it for 300 miles. I’d be hesitant about being able to reset to the current setup where I get notifications about my flights but not notifications about marketing.
Not in my account, but there's an offer for 250 miles for signing up for Shell fuel rewards program.

Though oddly, I do have the $250 offer from Shell, even though I've been on that program for years, and received AA miles last month from it.
So you wrote and posted an article which is was more time and effort than the 300 points itself.
There's no reason to not take advantage of this according to you, but the reality is that it is not free because the airline likely will make it difficult to unsubscribe and you have to agree to let them advertise to you or open notifications, may be even with third parties, etc.
