I've long been impressed by Delta's amenity kits, which are provided by Tumi. Combine their Tumi amenity kits and their Westin Heavenly Bedding, and they have one of the best branding partnerships for business class amenities. Late last year I wrote about my Delta One flight from Los Angeles to London, where I got one…

Lucky, as an FYI, just back from first-ever flying F on LH. Good gravy were the amenity kits pathetic and unattractive! Never mind no Rimowa (oh how that would have been nice!), but gone were the soft-sided Bduffel. Just a sad sack of a thing now in a truly ghastly color for females...contents underwhelming, too, save the La Prarie micro pack. As I took it all in I thought my Delta One domestic kits were far more impressive. And now that looks even more so. It's the little things...the little things.

There are discount codes in these to buy Kiehl products just like AA offers. I received one of these when they rolled out on July 1

Their planes could use a facelift.

Not sure I agree that moving from Malin + Goetz to Kiehls is an upgrade. But the I'm not a great fan of Kiehls. I find them a bit too greasy.

Just flew JFK-SFO in Delta One yesterday: we still had the old amenity kits with Malin+Goetz. They also didn't fill up the water tanks, so we had no water in the lavs/coffee/tea during the 6 hour flight SMH.

Kiehls is not a step up from Malin+Goetz. Kiehls is a mass market brand owned by Loreal. You can buy it in airports, malls, most department stores. Malin+Goetz is a smaller family owned company with a more exclusive brand identity (i.e. you are unlikely to find it at your local mall). This is not an upgrade.

Personal preferences may vary, but if the goal of the amenity kit is to create an association between the delta one brand and other aspirational brands, kiehls is not a step up. It is probably better known than Malin + Goetz (this can be a plus or a minus, depending on whether the goal is broad brand awareness or exclusivity).

There is also a tumi coupon in the kit.

I sure hope try aren't switching to kiehls in the lounge lavs. I also prefer the M+G products.

Don't see how Kiehl's is an upgrade from Malin + Goetz but then again I wouldn't be taking skincare advice from a travel blogger.

Do agree the kit itself has been improved.

Lucky, you really need to take a trip on Delta One in either the Airbus A330's or 747-400. Both have reverse herringbone seating (the upper deck of the 747-400 is an incredible 1 on each side of the aisle). Flying Delta on either of these two aircraft is as good as Business Class gets on a US Carrier (although the 747-400's will soon be gone, sadly).

Kiehl's is not an upgrade from Malin + Goetz, neither was 3LAB from Red Flower. I realize that you're not a skincare/body product blogger, but you should probably do a little more homework when you make these judgments especially in terms of "exclusivity".

Recently flew Jacksonville/Atlanta/Madrid and back on Delta. Really liked the hard sided Tumi cases shown in the picture. Nice looking. Useful too. Didn't care for the soft-sided cases on the way home (they had odd looking "pleats"). Left them on the plane. I don't use hardly anything in these kits except the toothpaste (Crest is fine by me) and the socks (ok for a flight but not worth taking home).
