I have my issues with Delta and United, but American is by far the most boring of the Big US 3. They're basically just a massive domestic airline with a few flights per day to London.
Interesting how AA prioritized LHR over HND fo 78Ps. I think both get plenty once more arrive.
They have very few 789Ps at the moment (I think they have 11 of them in the fleet right now, with only 1 scheduled to arrive in 2026). Most LHR flights use only 1 frame. Any of LAX/DFW/JFK-TYO would require 2 or 3 frames. During the winter season, when demand is lower to Europe, they can move some of the LHR frames to AKL/BNE.
LHR routes have a high percentage of premium customers, and it's a quicker turn-around, so maybe maximizing cash flow while the fleet is still small?
Happy to see a modern long-haul product for American.
Those 777-200s are terrible as a flying experience and I hope they go away soon...
AA currently have 11 78Ps in the fleet. Do they also expect some minimal deliveries in 2026? The LHR schedule seems to be on the lower side of utilisation of 11+ 78Ps. Likely some other plans later?
