KTM is a notoriously tough airport to land at. Will be curious to see if weather was bad. If not, then likely a mechanical or pilot error issue.

The plane first flew for SAS, who ditched the model after three crash landings in 2 months due to technical defects in the undercarriage construction. Since then we don't call it a Dash8 anymore, but just a Crash8. This model i really getting notorious.

A couple of years ago a Turkish Airlines A330 crashed in KTM (I don't believe there were any fatalities.). I flew into KTM over a year later and the plane was still there, parked on the opposing side of the runway from the terminal. The engines were removed and logos covered up but it was pretty easy to figure out.
