CNN’s “The Gateway” did a three minute segment on becoming a “Singapore Girl,” which I found pretty interesting. You can check it out here.
(Tip of the hat to Janesis)

And I thought those FA's on UA from SFO were attractive...
@Lucky - Works now! Must have just been my computer. Thanks!
@ TLT -- Hmmm, works for me. Anyone else having issues?

Video link does not work
@Old Flyer: Amen! I remember flying in the 50s and 60s, when it was piss-elegant for everyone and the 'queens' were in their hot-spot. Today, no one much cares except about the service - and when the 'queen's' departed, so did the quality of service. How do I know? Just wonder. Like most of us, I was 'encouraged' to consider another career and did, surviving 30+ years teaching lots of dreamy little girls and a few Real Men how to be nurses. No regrets.
For those of you too young to know, that is the way it used to be with US legacy airlines until the equal opportunity and age discrimination laws were enacted, which threw out weight and age restrictions, among others, like marriage. I am not saying that was wrong, but there was something very positive about having a young beautiful airline stewardess (flight attendant) attend to you. They were proud to be working there and there...

I am not saying that was wrong, but there was something very positive about having a young beautiful airline stewardess (flight attendant) attend to you. They were proud to be working there and there was status in actually being selected (in the final cut) as a stewardess because of all the competition. They were beautiful, young and most could be models. Add fantastic training and you had the perfect airline experience, even in coach. That was a different time, and those laws don't affect many foreign carriers today. Recently on a United flight to Singapore there was a change of equipment at Narita with the same flight number, but very young singapore flight attendants boarded for that segment.
When do they teach them to make special cards for the First Class passengers?
So fun...off to check it out!

Really awesome video! It truly is an icon and am impressed by SQ's training program.
I'm still waiting to hit the Janesis lottery!
I loved this! It indulges my secret desire to be a Singapore Girl myself ;)
Excited to fly SQ for the first time next week out of SFO. I hope Janesis is on my flight!
