Cool: Conrad Bora Bora Closing For Renovation In Early 2026

The Conrad Bora Bora is a popular Hilton property, especially for those of us in the miles & points community looking to redeem Hilton Honors points. There’s an exciting update, but it’ll lead to some short term inconvenience (thanks to Scott for flagging this).

Conrad Bora Bora closing early 2026 for renovation

The Conrad Bora Bora will be closing temporarily in early 2026. Here’s the note the hotel has emailed guests with reservations:

At Conrad Bora Bora Nui, we are dedicated to offering you unforgettable moments in our secluded private cove on Motu To’opua. In our continued effort to elevate the beauty, comfort, and experience of our resort, we will be undergoing a thoughtfully planned renovation designed to preserve the timeless charm of our property while enhancing every aspect of your future stay.

To ensure these enhancements are carried out to the highest standards, the resort will temporarily pause operations from January 19 through April 1, 2026.

The decision to close during this initial period has been made with the guest experience at heart, as this phase of the work will impact certain key public areas. In keeping with the high standards expected of a stay at Conrad Bora Bora Nui, we believe it is best to temporarily pause operations.

We wish to reassure you the resort will remain in full operation leading up to the temporary closure, with all services, amenities, and experiences delivered to the highest standards of luxury and excellence. Our guests can continue to expect the unparalleled service and refined comfort that have long defined a stay at our resort.

We are committed to keeping you informed every step of the way and will ensure a smooth handling of any existing bookings affected by this temporary closure. Our team is on hand to assist you with alternative arrangements and recommendations within the destination.

For guests booked during the closure, the hotel is offering to rebook people at another property in Bora Bora, or rebook at the Conrad Bora Bora any time through March 2027, while honoring the same rates and conditions as the original booking.

The Conrad Bora Bora is undergoing a renovation

I’m excited to see what this property will look like!

Bora Bora is absolutely gorgeous. Personally, I prefer it to the Maldives. Bora Bora doesn’t have the same selection of resorts as the Maldives, but I think it has even more natural beauty, and I also prefer the vibe.

With that in mind, I had an awesome stay at the Conrad Bora Bora back in 2019, and thought the property was quite nice. That being said, over six years later, I imagine it’s probably looking a little rougher around the edges.

If the resort can be elevated even more, then I’m super excited! The Four Seasons is generally considered the best property in Bora Bora. Then you have the St. Regis, which I found to be past its prime during our stay, but I’m not sure what the current state of that is. I’d love to return to Bora Bora at some point, and look forward to checking out the updated Conrad.

I’m excited to learn about the property’s updates!

Bottom line

The Conrad Bora Bora is undergoing a major renovation, and that will include a full closure in early 2026, for a period of just over two months. This is an awesome Hilton Honors property, so I’m happy to see this will be elevated even further.

What do you make of the Conrad Bora Bora undergoing a renovation?

The former Meridian is a Westin and excellent during my visit last month. The Conrad is a dinosaur really needing a facelift (and the St Regis needs one too)

I'm confused because they were supposedly under going reservations this whole year?? I have an email from them indicating where and when they were doing work on the property, but now they're closing and describing it as "initial stages" ?

Just did five nights at the newly renovated Westin Bora Bora. Great redemption value, beautiful room and excellent elite treatment (booked as Ambassador, visit was as a Titanium). We really enjoyed our stay.

Great to hear. I've been reading that they did a really terrific job with renovations since transitioning it from Le Meridian. I'll be there in January or February before bouncing around a few other properties and can't wait (never thought I'd say that for a Westin).

I wonder if they reflag it as a WA once it’s complete, depending on how much they put in the renovations
