A Delta frequent flyer has bragged online about how she snitches on flight attendants whenever she sees them using their phones, and even receives compensation from Delta for these complaints. Well, she’s now facing quite a bit of backlash, to put it mildly, and I can’t say it’s unwarranted.
In this post:
Delta frequent flyer tattles on flight attendants
This situations involves a Delta SkyMiles Diamond Medallion member, which is Delta’s top tier status. I won’t name the woman, because I don’t think it’s necessary — even if she’s not acting kindly, we don’t have to be unkind in return. But for some context, she’s a doctor and an educational consultant who travels frequently with the airline.
She participates in a private Facebook group for Delta Diamond members, where she repeatedly brags about how she reports Delta flight attendants for using their smartphones during flights when they’re not supposed to. She even posts pictures of flight attendants doing this.
In one message, she wrote about how she’s “winning” because she was given 8,500 SkyMiles for this:
Wrote my complaint about Joshua, the FA who hid in the galley and was overall s***** SDF-ATL Wed. Got a personal call from a Delta customer service agent and 8,500 Skypesos! Winning!
In another post, she wrote about how she had sent in three complaints in two weeks regarding this:
This will be the third photo I’ve sent Delta in two weeks. Three out of four flights, FAs on their devices. This one is clever — hiding it behind the Delta device. ATL-LIT, while heading toward takeoff.
Some members of the group criticized her for her actions. She immediately dismissed them, and told people to “kiss [her] grits,” along with the following:
It is against Delta policy for ANY employee to have their personal phone in view while working, even reservation agents. A Delta customer service agent called 4 hours after I sent my email and left a long, apologetic voicemail. She said, “You are 100% correct, and we thank you for bringing this to our attention.” FAs can only use their Sky Pro (Delta) device in flight and only in airplane mode and at certain times as directly related to safety. So, for those who said I should mind my own business or steop being a Karen, BE AWARE — this is a safety violation and a FIREABLE OFFENSE. Kind of a BIG DEAL. You should NOT see an FA using a personal device EVER unless on crew rest. (This was a 75-minute flight.) Y’all have fun over in SkyMiles Life, DL apologists! And kiss my grits!
Interestingly this person has apparently been quite controversial in online frequent flyer circles for some time, and has even reportedly been removed from another Delta Diamond Facebook group in the past over her behavior.
This woman is now facing serious backlash
While this Delta frequent flyer is technically within her rights to report Delta flight attendants for their actions, others are also within their rights to retaliate (in a non-threatening way, of course), and this woman is quickly learning that. Clearly some people in this Facebook group decided to make her comments public, and it’s causing some serious issues for her.
For example, the Daily Mail has picked up this story and she’s specifically named, so that’s probably not great for her career. For that matter, this woman has published some books, and they’re seeing a lot of one star reviews online in recent days.
Furthermore, this has gotten a ton of attention in flight attendant circles, and has been widely covered on A Fly Guy’s Cabin Crew Lounge. I imagine this person is going to be a brand name among Delta flight attendants for the foreseeable future.
It seems that she can dish it, while she can’t take it. She’s now demanding that any content about her online be removed, as Delta corporate security and the FBI are reportedly investigating this:
Be aware that you are now part of an active investigation by Delta Airlines corporate security and the FBI. You need to remove all content related to me and my professional reputation from your Facebook page, websites, and other platforms immediately or risk being prosecuted and/or sued for defamation.
This whole situation just isn’t kind
Here’s the thing — this traveler is of course within her rights to report airline employees for violating airline policies. However:
- She is violating Delta’s policy by taking pictures of Delta employees; so there’s an irony to her reporting Delta employees for violating rules, when she’s not following the rules herself
- Honestly, why does she care if flight attendants are using their phones? She posts a picture of a flight attendant in the jump seat while the plane is taxiing, probably connected to the inflight Wi-Fi, so how does that impact her?
- It’s bad enough to report this, but it’s even worse how she’s bragging about how she’s being rewarded for this, and how she’s “winning”
- Just as no one can stop her from reporting these Delta employees or bragging about it online, she also can’t stop others from sharing her posts outside of the Facebook group, and calling her out for this
- If she’s worried about her professional reputation, maybe don’t participate in a Facebook group where you say really controversial things with no shame using your real name?
- She claims that she has received threats via text and voicemail, and if that’s true, that’s absolutely not okay, no matter how she acts
Bottom line
A Delta frequent flyer has been getting quite the thrill out of reporting flight attendants for being on their smartphones, in violation of Delta’s policies. Not only has she reported many employees, but she’s telling anyone who disagrees with her to “kiss [her] grits.”
It seems some other Diamond members took revenge into their own hands, and shared her comments publicly, which is causing quite the issues for her. I don’t think this backlash is unwarranted, because I don’t think she’s acting in good faith with her reporting (though no one should threaten her in any way — that’s not cool).
What do you make of this Delta situation?

We all need to act like adults, show a little class and have pride in yourself when you're in public.
My first and only choice is to travel on Delta Airlines for air travel.
Boycott Delta,
I was boarding a flight in Miami to Boston and the flight attendant grabbed my wife's arm. Police responded and there will certainly be more to come from this.
I think this lady is getting a kick out of reporting FA so she can get rewards. If you are a DR. a honest DR. you should stay in your lane. Stop bragging about what you are doing and insulting others in their comments. I surly would not want her as my Dr.
Trying to get someone terminated then boasting about it reprehensible. What kind of person does this? I pity her.
If other members are reporting and posting what SHE posts that is NOT defamation… never post anything on the Internet that you would not read out loud in court in front of a judge. Wondering wth kind of books she writes…. How to be a Karen?
I myself am a flight attendant and I just want to say that our work tablets are actually iPhones so this is what the paxs is probably seeing. Don’t make comments or talk about something you know nothing about.
Yes they do mine is a Apple tablet.
You can't believe everything you read on the internet. What the frequent flyer said in her social media post about reporting employees was only partially true, and at best, exaggerated or twisted. And now a vigilante public acts on her spin without having all the facts and the whole truth. The victims here aren't the frequent flyer or the employees, but you, the public. You've been played and this is how we got to January 6th.
The ENTITLED!
I worked for Delta and this passenger ATTITUDE belongs on the DO NOT FLY LIST. Drive BABY! & stay off your PHONE
I personally rarely complain about an employee unless they do something so egregious that I just have to complain about it, and it is extremely rare. However, having worked in customer service for many years, if an employee does a good job, I will make sure their boss or company receives a compliment from me because they deserve it, and most of the time only hear complaints and not the good stuff.
Two things can be right at the same time. If the airline policy is no personal device use and you agree to that when you sign your employment papers, then if you break that rule, it's on you. I think I would have more sympathy for FAs (at least the ones on US carrier domestic routes) if 75-80% of them didn't do the bare minimum by dropping one drink and whatever food/snacks are provisioned for...

I think I would have more sympathy for FAs (at least the ones on US carrier domestic routes) if 75-80% of them didn't do the bare minimum by dropping one drink and whatever food/snacks are provisioned for the flight and then hide in the galley for the rest of the trip. Do a few rounds of the cabin throughout the flight, and THEN take a break and check your phone if you want.
OTOH, this woman has serious issues and seems to delight in the misery of others. She must be a real blast at parties.
It’s social media she posted on — it’s going to be public. I always question how people have time for all of this — and for something that does not seem to impact her at all.
It is the people that make Delta the best US airline (although flying mostly Airbus planes helps). From top management to cabin crews, Delta is more customer focused than American, United or “Greyhound” ( Southworst). I can’t fathom what is wrong with someone who has Delta’s highest customer level but delights in tattling on cabin crew.
Good thing her career and life is on the line for this. Remember that the FAs use mobile devices for their work. I think Delta could take some extreme actions such as deactivate her status or close her loyalty account which is in their rights and many may appreciate it. To complain about something is fine, but just as a matter to brag or complain more...

I know they all online shop, play on Facebook, and watch p0rn while on the company dime. But they’re not under the microscope like front line workers are, so they think you can call the kettle black without someone calling them out. I think flight attendants can safely and effectively do their jobs while also occasionally checking in on their friends, families or personal commitments (domestic flights can be anywhere from 25 mins to 6hrs with no breaks required by law). If the use of a phone gets in the way of them doing their job then it becomes an issue. You can detail this service failure to the airline without being a total dick in a Facebook group. She sure is thin skinned now that the microscope is turned on her. I hope from now on Angela will take less photos of others and focus on her online shopping and facebooking as she flys on a clients dime.
So will someone show pictures of Karen and publicly shame her? And soon?! As for Delta, screw 'within rights'. This bitch is abusing Medallion membership. Give her a taste of her own. I would!
A woman sparked controversy after complaining about a group of Delta flight attendants who allegedly used their phones in the cabin. On March 3, Angela Peery took to the Facebook group “The Official Delta Diamond Medallion Group” to call out the workers for their “safety violation” and “fireable offense.”
Google her
Oh Ben how truly pathetic siding with the snitch dobbing in people just trying to make a living, clearly just as sad as her!
What an utterly vile pig
Yeah, expecting flight attendants to do the bare minimum of their job and not be using their phones during taxiing, which is a critical safety portion of the flight, makes her a vial pig.
Flight attendants are not there to be our servants. They apparently aren't there to do safety things, either. No, they are just human beings in labor camps being worked to the bone and we need to have sympathy for them...

You're right, she's just a vile pig.
I am confused.
Ben and many commenters frequently complain that FAs (particularly on AA) fail to provide service because they spend all the time they can hiding away in the galley on their 'phones.
Somebody does something about this, and most of you complain?
I get that checking something quickly while in jump-seat is not interrupting service.
But the time spent in jump-seat is the most likely to require safety actions)

What do you want?
That management (not on the 'plane) disciplines their staff because it's bad for a customer to "snitch"?
How can management do that?
Spy cameras on all the time?
She must be lonely.
Have you seen her??? I wouldn't bang her with my dead neighbor's dick!
Have you seen her??? I wouldn't bang her with my dead neighbor's dick!
What goes around….
Um, it's only defamation is what you're saying is not actually TRUE. If you're simply repeating a FACT, then there's no defamation (unless I'm recalling that incorrectly - any attorney's out there please feel free to correct me if I'm wrong!).
Also, agree with Ben, if a FA is doing a quick check on their phone while the plane is taxiing, what difference does that make to her? She's just being mean. And costing hard working people their jobs! What an awful woman.
A word comes to mind that rhymes with snitch.
Maybe this lady went a little too far.
But.... what the heck is going on in this country with regards to service, particularly in the airlines. Why is airline management kowtowing to the FA's. There are tons of misbehavior that I observe but these days if you bring anything up with bad/rude/unattentive/attitude behavior you will quickly get the backlash that they "felt threatened" and they abuse their authority and airlines don't have a "fair" process...

Bad behavior, violation of safety rules SHOULD BE REPORTED and if airlines don't take the responsibility of takingng this stuff seriously, then the gov't should intervene with rules as has been with delayed flights, delayed deplaning....
using a phone during taxing isn't bad. Glad she was punished.
Actually, it is very bad. That is when things happen.
As a crew member for another airline people wonder why flight attendants can be…. Not so patient in this day and age. This self entitled bitch deserves all that comes her way and trust me when crews see her name on a manifest or in their tablet I’m sure she’ll get the treatment she deserves. I think you are forgetting you have no skills, no education, and everyone laughs at you as a profession.
There are 1000 people willing to do your job, if you can call being on Grindr in Des Moines a job. And do not come for me hunty. I am gay, too, and I know you rancid lot.
She is a disgusting piece of shit. I hope she sees this comment. All to earn miles and Delta are idiots for continuously giving her the miles. Don’t they notice its a pattern and a red flag ? You know damn well she is lying about the FBI & Delta Corporate Security. FBI has other important matters to deal with. People have every right to state their comments as long as they not threatening her...

Do your job properly, and you won't get fired. Stop playing with your phone while on the clock!
"Honestly, why does she care if flight attendants are using their phones?"
Why do flight attendants care that my seat is reclined 5 degrees during landing sufficient that I need to be awoken half an hour to an hour before reaching the gate? Well, allegedly, "safety". Why do flight attendants care that my seat is reclined 5 degrees during landing sufficient that I need to be awoken half an hour to an hour before reaching the gate? Well, allegedly, "safety". Presumably that small infraction and dozens of others is sufficiently awful that it creates the possibility of serious safety issues. Operating within that framework, flight attendants are CRITICAL safety personnel vital to ensuring the safety of passengers and crew and need to be constantly active and monitoring for threats to safety. A dereliction in these duties then threatens the safety and well-being of everyone aboard the cabin. If Sally is holed up deathscrolling Instagram while on the job, my safety is threatened! If anyone gets injured and FA were not attending to the cabin in compliance with regulations, Delta is mega liable!
At this point too, flight attendants aren't really attendants in the service mindset. There was a time and place over half a century ago when flight attendants really were attendants- you'd ask them for a paper, a hot cup of coffee, details on the connections, etc etc at your leisure and they'd keep you comfortable. Nowadays the "attending" is them handing you precisely one beverage and one snack item at precisely the moment they've decided to ask you, and if you've been a good boy that will be the limits of your interactions. They're basically sky nannies, but CRITICAL sky nannies whose services are essential to everyone on board.
So let me put it this way, as long as we say it's critical someone monitor my slight seat recline, that someone's job is so important to the lives of crew and passengers that they simply can't be goofing off on the job and must be in compliance with all airline regulations. If we'd like to say "oh yeah they're just there to sell credit cards and call law enforcement if people start fighting" by all means, death-scroll away and let me recline. If they're going to nanny me and claim this nannying is so essential for me I'm going to call mommy when nanny isn't being a good nanny. They can't have it both ways.
up yours karen...why don't you do there job then if you don't like it. And clean your seat up around you instead of leaving things like a pig pen.
This thread is inspiring me to specifically now and go out of my way to catch flight attendants doing this. I have never seen such horrendous online chatter in my life.
People who can't even write basic English sentences are getting mad at people for expecting the nannying flight attendants to do the BARE MINIMUM of their job, but that's too much. These are the people who side with the likes of big city...

These are the people who side with the likes of big city fast food workers who can't even get an order that a literal dog could without somehow screwing it up.
How about we do their job? Their job literally entails not using their God damned phones during takeoff. I am so sick and tired of people defending societally worthless waste of space that can't even do the bare minimum of what they were hired to do.
Any flight attendant that takes their phone out during the flight deserves to be fired. They are endangering the lives of everybody on the plane, period. Now I'm going to specifically look for this type of behavior! Thanks, guys!
"Why do flight attendants care that my seat is reclined 5 degrees during landing"
Because certification of the aircraft for evacuation was done with that cabin configuration, seats upright. So just do it.
If they care that I recline my seat, then I sure as shit care if they have their phones out during a critical safety portion of the flight such as taxiing.
"So just do it" regarding putting their phones away. If they don't want to do it, they can risk being fired. Seems pretty fair to me.
This woman is incredibly entitled, and by accepting a REWARD for turning in these employees, she's a huge part of the problem. If the FAs had treated her or other passengers in a negative manner, that's one thing. But this lady clearly relished the chance to screw up other people's lives. And that's not ok.
FBI's most wanted has a reward too. Are they a huge part of the problem?
Finding a lost puppy has a reward too.
Are they a huge part of the problem?
Are you sympathetic when the Navy SEALS screw up Bin Laden's life?
She's trolling. Take a look at the headline on her website: "Educational Consultant, Author, and Collector of Skypesos"
Her homepage is just links to articles about the incident, and in her headshot, she's wearing what appears to be a DL flight attendant's neck scarf.
Of course, the ultimate irony would be that the F/A's were reviewing pics that had been taken of passengers, during boarding where paxs
- had too much carry-on,
- slightly tipsy or drunk
- those with offensive t-shirts
- been a 'difficult' or argumentative
- or .... pics of Karen texting Delta, when SHE should have been paying attention.

As to whether or which stage of taxi / take-off / flight this occurred, we don't really know, because 'Karen' has reported multiple incidents. These F/A's may have actually been filing reports to DL management.
However, I would personally expect the F/A's to be 100% alert and attentive during critical stages of flight.
One thing is for sure - F/A's are generally doing a job daily and should be highly cognizant of the airline's rules. How many flights has 'Karen' crewed as an operational crew member ? Has she read a DL flight manual?
I know her! Her name is Karen.
#accountability. FA’s don’t seem like they like it.
Go back to the meth pipe billy
@James
Are you a serial power trip flight attendant?
FAs apparently fall in the same category now to the "Be Kind" crowd as big-city fast-food workers who can't get orders correct that are literal dog could, without somehow screwing them up.
They deserve our sympathy when they can't even do the bare minimum of what they were hired to do, because don't you know how hard their job that doesn't even require any education is!?!?!?!
This person is NOT a physician or even in health care. She is in education with a PhD. Headline makes it sound like she is a medical doctor, which fortunately, she is not.
Maybe OMAAT has to fix the word "doctor". Several comments suggests many are too uneducated to understand the use of this word.
Since you can't fix stupid, then fix the vocabulary to something Dr. Seuss would use.
LMAO do these people also think Dr.Seuss is physician too?
Sadly, someone is acting like a kid telling on Flight Attendants who have more or less a thankless job for lower than what you would expect to pay for all that they do.
If the flight attendants are taking care of business and they get a free minute to look at their cell phones who cares?
I see flight attendants taking a break while on the job like anyone else.
"More or less a thankless job."
So that's why for decades, being a flight attendant has been a highly competitive career for people without any education, right? That's why airlines are struggling to find flight attendants, right?
Boy, being able to fly for an airline in a cushy air-conditioned environment mostly serving snacks and get free airline travel as a perk without even having a college education is a pretty sweet deal. Doesn't sound very thankless to me...
Delta shud respond with "Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention. We will review your comments with the Flight Attendant." And then NEVER compensate the person reporting the Delta employee's behavior. All employees - from the top down - break the rules at some point, at least once. Shud they do that? NO. Do they? Yes. Are you getting your drink or meal? Do they look at all like they might not be able to perform any needed safety duties? Every airline has a few flight crews who flout the rules. Some flight attendants do as little as possible. I've seen such behavior on any airline's domestic flights. When you hear a flight attendant say 'We are here primarily for your safety,' yes those words can grate a little. Better they not go into any detail about exactly what they may need to do for your safety. You likely won't want to think too much about that.
The bottom line is she is not being nice. She is taking pleasure in reporting the mistakes of the others and bragging about it. She comes across as a person to avoid.
Until flight attendants stop abusing their perceived power then they should expect passengers to expect that the FA’s will follow the rules to the letter. I kinda think the FA power trips started this. Why should passengers overlook FA violations when they are so quick to tell us they are there for our safety, not to provide service.
As a long time flight attendant, I resent being generalized. The airlines we work for 'break the rules' frequently when it comes to your safety and our work schedules. Many times we work a 13-15 hour work day with only 10 hours of scheduled off duty and less than one hour between flights, that does NOT even include the boarding and disembarking of passengers. So if you happen to catch me using my phone I...

I am not going to stop being human just because my company chooses not to keep your safety and mine in their budget formula. If you think my 20 year career is worth 8500 miles when you are too small to consider the whole picture then click away. Karens and Kevins have no life and whine way too much.
Lmfao at 'their perceived power' . When you're in a plane you do what you're told by the flight crew. Your entitlement is ridiculous.
Didnt take long for the entitled tool to show up
I'd like to go to her place of employment and monitor her every move. I wonder how she would do?
There is a difference. As a passenger, your safety is affected by her not focusing on hew job.
David clearly isn't very bright if he doesn't understand how an FA's job involving safety is different from a corporate one.
Like, we're going to have to go back to second grade to help David out, here.
“Diamond” EGO run amok. I’ll bet that she rarely personally paid for a 1st seat in a Delta aircraft since Delta bought NWA. She is a self proclaimed Diamond Karen. $0.02 Submitted
Maybe she is just a frustrated frequent flyer who got sick of excuses that “we are here primarily for your safety” but then not focused on safety and situational awareness at the most critical time of a flight: while taxiing to and then taking off and landing.
Just an explanation for wasting time to complain about the FA’s behavior. The miles “compensation” are a joke for a frequent flyer eligible for the airline credit cards.
Didnt take long for another pathetic snitch to show up!
Who is that other “pathetic snitch”? Certainly not I. Don’t blame me for being fed a lot of info and understanding that being well-informed doesn’t happen because of being pathetic. Being jealous of the well-informed is pathetic. ;)
What do you mean what is it to her? Isn't it a safety issue? If it isn't a safety issue, why then are pax told to place their phones in airline mode? Perhaps she took pics because she wanted to provide solid proof that what she is complaining about actually occurs?
Why are crew playing on their phones anyhow? Shouldn't they be serving pax?
no it is not a safety issue while you were taxing and strapped up. people that feel this way shouldn’t be allowed to fly. I would rather you just stick to buses.
Um, actually, it is a critical time and anyone in a jump seat has a job to be alert and ready for anything.
Totally legit. Flight attendants should be playing on their phone. Their duty is the safety and comfort of passengers. She is my hero.
Please fix your article. In reviewing this person credentials she is a phd in education. Using the word “”doctor” implies she has a doctorate in medicine & makes people think she is a physician. It seems like she is an educator with a doctorate in education.
A person who has put in the time and effort and holds a Phd, has the absolute right to be called a doctor.
To elaborate further, ANYONE with a terminal degree, including a PhD, EDD, DDS, DVM or any other doctoral degree has earned the right to be called doctor. Although I do occasionally have to remind my better half that she is not a medical doctor, when she tries to diagnose her own medical conditions or those of our pets.
I agree , said the same above. Headline is misleading

Since you can't fix stupid, then fix the vocabulary to something Dr. Seuss would use.
LMAO do these people also think Dr.Seuss is physician too?
It sounds more like YOU are the uneducated one based on this and your other (frequent) posts. There is no prescribed "use of the word" Doctor, and anyone who has earned a doctoral degree can use that title.
Customer service is usually pretty bad in the US and if she wants to report it, thats up to her. But as soon as she starts posting gloating about it, she's gonna come over like a bitter cow and will immidiately find ppl doing exactly what they seem to have done.
You can just tell she's a total grifter tho lol
Yet another element of slackness by flight attendants on the US carriers.
I don’t like it when I see the FAs on their phone all the time, but until this comment I’ve said nothing. It’s quite common in the states and it’s unprofessional. I’m not seeing it as much on foreign carriers.
Congratulations to “Karen “ just proving and validation that she’s a snitch c_nt.
Misogyny much?
If it were a man it would be the same. So would you then comment “ misandrist much” ? Still a c—. Male, female or whatever pronoun
Nope. She IS a cunt. And a fat old ugly one at that!
It's not the reporting, or even receiving compensation for it. Those are valid things. If, as others have said, a FA had valid reasons for whatever the passenger felt was in violation, the internal investigation will reveal those reasons. And they _should_ be reported, because there are absolutely times when there _aren't_ valid reasons.
It's the bragging about it all which raises my hackles, while taking unauthorized pics and sharing them is just _wrong_.
TBH...

TBH if she had just felt self-satisfied in her compensation hauls and not bragged about it, she wouldn't be in her current situation.
You probably very annoyed in an election year, all those PAC and debates.
Those are all about bragging.
Guilty FA's should be made to work on any of the Middle East airlines.they will learn Fast.
Ben Schlappig, when you’re flying 100-250k airlines a year and paying full fare, it gets annoying when FAs don't pull their weight. My ex girlfriend flew SEA Tokyo/Narita, and I heard enough about coworkers not pulling their weight and family members flying free & dresses as street people.
Are ?her complaints valid or just whinning?
Why are you still talking to your ex?
I have complained in recent memory citing safety only twice. And I do this as a 20 year former airline employee and a commercially rated multi-engine pilot who has also been through F/A training (the airline I worked for was about to go on strike so all of us at HDQ got trained, I can evacuate a DC-9 if you need haha).

One case was a flight attendant on a regional airline who did not do a safety briefing on either the first segment or the second segment of the flight (after more passengers joined). And did zero cabin compliance checks such that the people in the exit row had tray tables down during landing and were holding a lap infant.
The other I reported recently a Frontier pilot who made a comment along the lines of Frontier had the newest Airbus fleet in the USA so "don't worry, we will land with all our pieces and parts still on the plane." You do not joke about safety and you certainly do not joke about safety of competitors or make light of issues. That's just bad karma and unprofessional. They offered me 10,000 miles (and responded to my email within a half hour). I declined. A did tell a pilot friend of mine from college who is a LEC professional standards chair for ALPA at a major airline. He called his fellow ALPA officer over at Frontier. I just want this pilot told it's not a good look to do that and makes the whole industry look bad which serves nobody well.
But other things? Sure, I probably notice more than the average passenger. Especially when I'm flying a former employer and know their procedures. A flight attendant who I see doesn't check the galley compartments are secured before takeoff? Yeah, I notice that. Will I report it even after two of them fly open on takeoff and all the coffee condiments land in row 1? No, they were embarrassed enough. Are they on their own phone in the jumpseat? Not my business. There are legitimate reasons they could be and I'm not privy to that.
Bless your heart! Does your partner not listen to you that you need a forum to vent?
You don't joke about safety?
You probably never heard of Boeing.
By the way, I'd rather have a humorous crew who jokes about landing in one piece with all the parts over a crew on their phones in a jump seat.
You are a Karen.
This article makes her sound like a female physician. She is not. We have better things to do with our time than harass flight attendants. The other article states her name Dr. X, an educational consultant which makes for the one true profession she has.
Unless she lied about her education, she's a doctor.
A doctor is a title not a profession.
Your confusion is based on your limited understanding.
By the way do you think doctor Dre is a physician?
Or doctor Pepper?
While I don't know any Dr. X in educational field, I do know there is a Professor X who runs the Xavier School for Gifted Youngsters in upstate NY.
She is not A doctor. She has a doctorate degree and she has the right to call herself Dr X when she wants to BUT she is not A doctor. Nobody says, "I'm a doctor" when asked what their profession is, if what they have is a PhD. Do you want her showing up to your seat when you're having a heart attack on board when flight attendants plead for A doctor's help? Yeah, I didn't think so....
You can't fix stupid.
@TracyL
"She is not A doctor. She has a doctorate degree"
-I rest my case.
"Nobody says, "I'm a doctor" when asked what their profession is, if what they have is a PhD."
-Correct because a doctor is a title not a profession.
Do you want her showing up to your seat when you're having a heart attack on board when flight attendants plead for A doctor's help?
You can't fix stupid.

-I'm sure the chance of her showing up when they are asking for a doctor on board is the same as Dr.Dre showing up to help out.
Bonus for you:
Diet Dr.Pepper is a not a slim version of Dr.Pepper.
Dr.Pepper is not related to Dr.Salt
And you wouldn't want Dr.Phil (yes that guy on TV) if you had a heart attack either. He's not a physician, he has a PhD in psychology.
Nor would most physicians able to stabilize a cardiac arrest mid flight. Your luck is almost better having someone who can perform CPR and use AED.
And Dr.No can't fix stupid either.
I hope the Bonus part is not too hard for you to understand.
I don’t think this article, if written about Dre would say ‘he’s a rap artist and a Doctor’ or about Dr. Pepper ‘it’s a soda and a Doctor’. Your gifted friend may have a PhD but she would be referred to as Dr. X but an article written about her wouldn’t say ‘she’s a gifted professor and a Doctor’. If she is so gifted I think she would agree that grammar matters. If not you can’t fix stupid. Oh and I know you’re trolling all comments here so continue to have fun!
As you said a Doctor is a title and in the article it was used as a noun. In the original article naming her it was used correctly. Accept care from anyone saying ‘I’m a Doctor’ and see how that goes. You may not be well enough to sort it out but then again even if you could you can’t fix stupid. Honestly, this article sounds like it's written by an FA, and an FA that's just voicing their disapproval at a customer that is catching people in the act.

Comfort plus is touch and go.Perhaps unpopular opinion, but if it's against policy, and if it's keeping the customer from having a good experience, by all means, report what's going on.
This article simply encouraged me to do the same as this woman.
Beware “an” flight attendant group is huge..we ban together when there’s adversity..every airline! We are one!
The comments to this article have now encouraged me to start watching flight attendants and report them for this behavior.
I am shocked that so many people are treating flight attendants the same way the left treats fast food workers who can't even get orders that dogs could without somehow screwing them up. Like pets who deserve to be paid even if they can't do the bare minimum of what they were hired to do.
Funny how this person is called a snitch but if she worked for Boeing she's called a whistleblower.
I don't see any entitlement here. Maybe she's doing it for the bounty. But that's what Delta is offering. And I don't see anywhere about she being banned from flying Delta either.
She might be excessive and unpleasant but she's definitely not a Karen for standing her ground for what is right.
And nobody is going...

And nobody is going to think that the airline or some union ordered a hit on her.
Hypocrites.
She’s a Karen when she starts threatening everyone with FBI visits, etc.
Is she really a Karen for reporting a harassment to FBI?
Unless someone broke the law, I doubt FBI would even open an investigation. Did you see police open a case against the bird watching person?
It's called FBI, not Karen Bureau of Investigation.
Did she threaten the FA or is this what the author of the article said?
I don't expect flight attendants to hover over me every minute of the flight like they're servants on Downton Abbey. As long as they regularly check on premium passengers if they want to eat a meal, text someone or play candy crush for 10 minutes why would I care? Typical Karen that claims to be a SJW but in reality looks upon the unwashed (read doesn't have an MBA) as their servant peasants.
There is a time for everything, non work time.
During the duration of takeoff, landing and taxi time is NOT the right time, Safety 101.
She's whistleblower if she reports an actual violation. I don't know the rules and I wasn't there so I won't comment on that, although that wouldn't stop many people. She's definitely a Karen when she brags about it on social media.

I’m a former flight attendant and while I’m not for passengers taking secret photos and reporting FA’s for this every time they see it happen, I can tell you it is a 100% FAA safety violation for a flight attendant to be on their phone while in a jumpseat and especially while taxing. This is a very important time when a flight attendant is to be observing their surroundings that are within view both inside and outside the plane, and they are to be mentally reviewing their emergency procedures thinking about the type of plane they’re on, the exit locations, and so forth. This is not the time they are to be scrolling on their cell phone. Passengers and some commenters should understand that a flight attendants main role is all about safety, not service. The most accidents happen during taxi, takeoff, and landing. Flight attendants should be extremely focused at these times and not distracted.
This former flight attendant for 2 large airlines could not agree more. When sitting in that jumpseat during taxi and / or take off, the mental focus is on emergency procedures and emergency equipment. Any good flight attendant is mentally reviewing what he or she needs to do if there is a sudden emergency. On the phone, casually sitting in the jumpseat - all unprofessinal.
And your post just demolished all of the horrendous "this woman is a disgusting piece of shit" monsters on this thread.
The people who are morally outraged about what this woman are doing are in turn the ones who are exhibiting evil behavior and need to take a look in the mirror at what they're fighting for. They're defending incompetence, negligence, laziness, and stupidity.
Angela Peery is her name, just in case. Let’s hope the internet takes care of her
Why? For reporting on bad behaviour? Behaviour which the employees of Delta are not supposed to be indulging in?
My safety is incredibly important to me and I applaud this lady for doing what she did.
Dan, comments like yours have now inspired me to start watching FAs like a hawk during takeoff and to report this same behavior.
Thanks, buddy!
While I don’t like bragging, flight attendants deserve to be held accountable. It’s refreshing a company pays compensation for the poor behavior of their flight attendants. Too often flight attendants abuse their authority over flight safety to persecute passengers who complain of poor service. It’s nice flight attendants will be looking over their shoulders for monitors who will have an impact on their lives if they do a poor job. All airlines should have monitors...

Agree. She does kind of seem like a dunce for reporting FAs during takeoff/landing when there's no real impact on service for her or anyone else, but there absolutely needs to be way more accountability at basically all other points during the flight.
Takeoff and Landing are the most critical periods of the flight when accidents happen. FA's should have 100% situational awareness during these times and not play with their phones. Just ask the crew of Japan Airlines and Asiana, who got everyone out safely before the plane burned to ashes. I have zero trust that U.S. flight attendants would have had the same success.
“Education consultant”… enough said
I don't really have a problem with the idea of reporting behaviour you are unhappy with. Especially since US cabin crew can be quite bad. But I think it absolutely crosses the line to publicly post photos and I also think that it is ridiculous to brag about reporting flight attendants. I could understand a single post without specifics saying something along the lines of, 'I told Delta about a service-failure on board a recent flight and they offered me Sky Miles as appreciation for raising the issue. That's a nice policy.' But yeah, really not okay to share photos of cabin crew that you decided were violating policy. You don't actually know what they were doing. Let Delta decide if the employee did something wrong or not.
As Ben can attest, if you intentionally bring too many frivolous complaints to an airline in an effort to get compensation, the airline may end up banning you from their frequent flyer program. (Read the Rolling Stone profile for background.)
At minimum, as Tim Dunn noted, she's not going to be getting any more compensation for ticky tacky complains going forward. At worst, Delta could fire her as a customer, which would certainly gain...

As the spouse of a retired Delta Captain, I totally agree with this passenger and reporting flight attendants disobeying their job commitment.
Nothing to said he is long gone sorry for you didn’t pass the initial training for F/a
It would never occur to me to complain and certainly not to publicly brag about complaining, but recently I was on Delta 321 in Comfort+ in the exit row right next to the jump seat, and the FA was on his phone from the minute he sat down, through takeoff until post-10,000 feet when he got up. Same with landing.
I really didn’t care much - maybe he had some family crisis or what...

I really didn’t care much - maybe he had some family crisis or what not - but if FAs are going to make such a big deal about how they are safety-focused “first responders” they should maybe at least pretend to pay attention during critical phases of the flight.
She is not a Karen because I am named Karen and she is certainly not like me. She's just a bit__!!!!!!!!
The number of Karen comments in this thread is horrifying. Everyone who says it basically invalidates the rest of their post by stopping down to that vile level of misogyny and other things I will not write about here.
first, I doubt if the statements that she made about when DL FAs can use their DL devices is even correct because I have frequently seen them being used during boarding for legitimate purposes - such as to clear up seat assignment confusion and to communicate w/ gate agents about full bins

second, I doubt if DL really is rewarding her for communicating that FAs are on their phones but that she is providing feedback which DL and most customer-service focused companies want. And the chances are very high that DL just flagged her SkyMiles account w/ a "don't give any bonus miles" tag as a result of this.
third, karma is a thing and if she hasn't figured out that sticking her nose in someone else's business esp. with the intent to harm their career, she will find out if she hasn't already. She is about ready to get taught the biggest lesson of her life - let's see what book of hers it shows up in.
I agree, I am sure she's been flagged. And she brought it upon herself. Because why would DL security supposedly be investigating (not that they could do anything really) like she claims? How would they know (and they wouldn't tell her they know.... I know someone who used to work in Delta's revenue protection unit and that was some serious CIA stuff honestly but they were very good at what they did)? And how would...

And how would they know without knowing what she posted? That's the part she's missing... so either way that she would know or say that DL knows and is involved they either saw the pictures of the posts about her bragging she complained and got SkyMiles for the win, or she had to say they're bashing her for bragging she got SkyMiles for her complaint. So either way she made Delta aware of behavior they don't find very savory from customers.
She probably now needs to be like Frank Lorenzo when he flew on CO/EA.... crack your own soda can.
This woman is threatening other Facebook FA groups with lawsuits and saying Delta and the DOJ are investigating. Like anyone believes this, NOT. This person has serious issues. Good luck next time she flies, she has pretty much alienated every airline employee above wing including gate and ticket agents.
Mediocre performance and non-conformance with the rules are celebrated today. If people wouldn't let them get away with all kinds of nonsense, maybe staff would start acting professionally again and follow the rules.
The public shaming of this woman reflects the cowardice and herd behavior of the public. This woman has a conviction that she’s helping improve aviation safety, and she’s going about her crusade in a harmless manner. Her own violation of policy (taking photos of FAs) is a red herring.
The airline gave her 8,500 miles because she was deemed a high value customer worthy of the gesture. Let’s also not forget she earned a doctorate...

Being a total jerk transcends socioeconomic status and value level of customer.
She was tossed out of another Delta Diamond group for her repeated posts similar to this.
She’s a moron and serial complainer whose been karening since 2014. What is having a doctorate mean? Perhaps the crew were on a break and reading work related material. She should mind her own business. If she’s going to post pics of people and naming them then equally she deserves a taste of her own medicine
Airline employees can also have doctorates. I know a few.
Don’t be such a c— and think they’re better than anyone else. They are not.
Just because you have a PhD (or are a big law partner) doesn’t mean you have any class.
(He’s not a BL V10 partner…that’s just his name on a blog)
Defamation lawsuit coming right up, gonna have my friends at Skadden file this one
LOLOLOLOLOLOLLLOLOL!!!!!1!!
Tell us you’re not a lawyer without telling us you’re not a lawyer.
Sounds charming. Pity the poor people who have to go to work with her every day and not just spend an hour on a plane with her!
This woman is petty, but Delta is the one dishing out the rewards, which makes them worse.
I agree with her. If you don’t keep these flight attendants in check they will do a worse job than they already are.
Shame on Delta Management for allowing this individual to spew her BS and give her a platform. As an Employee, I would go NUCLEAR and encourage everyone they know to launch personal attacks to discredit this Byatch to the point where her career and professional reputation is ruined. There are ways of dealing with these so called Karen's.....bombard them with an assult the witch will remember for the rest of her toxic life. She is a useless Tw*t....shame on Delta.
You seem to enjoy spending time in a courtroom because that's exactly where such action would land you.
If she’s in social media she won’t. Is she going to start suing 1000s of people all
over the world using pseudonyms ?
Most times, the pseudonym users are unmaskable. It takes an extraordinary effort and considerable knowledge and intelligence to effectively frustrate the stalkers and prevent them from getting their way.
This concept of "Karen" is somewhat new to me. During my time, we would just call her a cunt.
Best comment hahahahha
Snort laugh!!! I was thinking the same thing!
Nice!!
Delta needs to reward people for praise rather than just complaints.
If you gave people 1000 points or whatever for sending in a "Praise" comment, then people LOOK for the good, and see more good, and are happy. If you reward complaining, you get more complaining.
But it doesn't work that way.
Totally agree ... if she is going to complain about others, then she TOTALLY has to accept others complaining about her and giving...

If you are nice, guess what, others tend to be nice back. If you celebrate the politics of personal destruction of someone else .... WELL, I suspect others will really really enjoy getting to destroy you as well.
She's a Karen that should go fly Frontier.
Delta leadership aren't dumb, certainly thanking this woman for her past business and then inviting her to find another airline would be yet another way to show employees that they are valued. Easy win for Delta by refusing this flyer in the future for violating company photographic policy.
Employees who blatantly flout or ignore the conditions of their employment contract are NOT valued. They're being written up and then fired after repeated offenses.
See my comment below. Official duties ARE performed on personal devices and the complaining passenger has simply concluded the flight attendant was doing personal things. The complaining passenger has no knowledge of what the flight attendant was actually doing.
I hate to say it, but this woman looks EXACTLY how I imagined she would. Seems like an incredibly entitled, arrogant, and narcissistic individual. Must be a blast at parties.
Yeah when I googled her name, I was not surprised by her picture. She is the definition of Karen.
This Karen, and most others like her, will probably never understand that all actions have consequences.
Flight attendants use personal devices as a part of their official duties. The various scripted announcements are read from a personal device. Crews can often switch aircraft during a duty day and they must monitor the status of their subsequent flight/aircraft assignment. Etc., etc. So, how does this tattler know these flight attendants are doing something other than official duties? If this Karen were a guy, her name would be Dick.
Delta can determine what she was doing. Their call if they want to penalize the employee if it's found that the cellphone use was personal. All the customer did was report the employee.
Another delusional toxic individual who believes she’s above all reproach, what goes around comes around for people like this!
And why would she brag about getting only 8,500 Sky Miles?
Seems she’s been complaining since 2014. Also looks like a Karen. How’s she going to sue people all over the world using pseudonyms ? The comment about the FBI and corporate security are BS.
She can dish it, but can’t take it.
@ Timothy Dunn Jr.
'who are solely there for safety and not service!'
I am a flight attendant (non-US legacy airline) and have been for twenty plus years. I would say a very large part of my day to day job is service although of course safety comes first.
If you are there SOLELY for safety than what makes a PREMIUM (your capitals) airline 'premium'?
And this woman seems nothing but an attention seeking idiot.
100% agreed.
Hi Duck Ling,
Chances are that the comment of “Timothy Dunn Jr” is meant to be somewhat ironical.
Regarding comments from “Timothy Dunn” on the other hand, I am afraid they are bitterly serious.
She sounds really immature, and it’s typical of many academics who think they are above anyone else. A serial complaining Karen. It’s also normal for the Daily Heil to breach privacy and publish names, however she bought it upon herself by going on a public forum.
If she is happy to take photos of staff in flight then she should not complain when the tables are turned and her photo is everywhere.
Quite risky, privacy violations carry steep fines in the UK.
Besides her Karen-ish actions, any airlines' flight attendant shouldn't be looking at their phones while in flight, or at least use it while they're not serving passengers, etc., imo.
If she was smart she would have done this on an airline where the miles she got were worth something!
She had issues, chic among them that she isn’t smart.
“Be aware that you are now part of an active investigation by Delta Airlines corporate security and the FBI. You need to remove all content related to me and my professional reputation from your Facebook page, websites, and other platforms immediately or risk being prosecuted and/or sued for defamation.”
Um…BS. And what power does DL security have? And she’s not defamed if what was published...

She’d be pitiable were she not so hateful.
Agreed! Also there was no criminal violation based upon the facts in this article.
This little tattle tale and his/her/its family and friends all need to be banned for LIFE from the world’s #1 PREMIUM airline. How dare he/she/they/them/it snitch on folks who are solely there for safety and not service!

Delta being the world”s number 1 premier airline is highly questionable. In this case they fed the monster Skypesos for years and had call centers smooth feathers with hack platitudes other premium fliers had to earn. They have the incident profile and compensation data and ignored it culminating in negative exposure. Delta failed here too.
What airline would that be? Qatar Airways, Singapore Airlines or ANA?
