Where to credit SQ Flight

Where to credit SQ Flight

Hi, flying SQ21(EWR-SIN) in J class in October and wondering if I should credit the flight to Alaska Mileage Plan or United. Thanks for any help!

Well, in either case, each program will only earn 100% of flown miles towards elite qualification. For redeemable miles, and excluding any elite member bonuses, UA awards 100-125% depending on fare class whereas AS awards 200-225% of the flown miles.

If you have a healthy Chase UR balance and/or UA cards, crediting to UA is good, otherwise AS is a good option. They have a variety of partners and often have mileage sales, as well as being one of the few programs that allow a stopover on a oneway award.
