Question… I paid $648 per passenger on American for our four coach tickets to Lexington, Ky for Christmas in December. I just got an offer to upgrade to first class… Two of the tickets….mine and one of the passengers would be for no charge but the other two tickets would be $480 per passenger for a total of roughly 1500… flight is Tpa…clt…lex and same for the return. I have platinum status. What do you think? Thanks!

I think it all depends on what what level of experience you think you’ll receive. Me, I’d struggle to pay for F on flights as short as TPA – CLT and CLT – LEX. No meals. Only the snack basket offered… but for a cost of $375 per person, if you don’t want to check bags, board with group 1 to get bin space, get off earlier, etc., I would say that may be worth it.
